Obama on the Constitution

Obama in a 2001 interview gave his views on the U.S. Constitution:

It is a charter of negative liberties. Says what states can't do to you. Says what the Federal government can't do to you, but doesn't say what the Federal government or State governments must do on your behalf."

There is no indication that Obama undrstands that the constitution is the very reason why we have individual freedom to pursue happiness.
