Life in the streets of Italy has all but ceased, but behind closed doors — and out of open windows — Italians aren’t letting fear of the coronavirus pandemic keep them from one of the simplest joys in life: music.

Italians on social media are sharing heartwarming examples of paisano solidarity, with videos showing the empty streets and courtyards of Northern Italy ringing out in song.

In a viral clip posted to Twitter, a user from Siena pointed their smartphone camera out of a window as a chorus of townspeople can be heard harmonizing together.
