Here is a story written over six years ago by Terence P. Jeffrey in CNS News. JJ Sefton linked to it this morning. I have never heard of this. Have you?

The Internal Revenue Service sent 23,994 tax refunds worth a combined $46,378,040 to “unauthorized” alien workers who all used the same address in Atlanta, Ga., in 2011, according to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA).

That was not the only Atlanta address theoretically used by thousands of “unauthorized” alien workers receiving millions in federal tax refunds in 2011. In fact, according to a TIGTA audit report published last year, four of the top ten addresses to which the IRS sent thousands of tax refunds to “unauthorized” aliens were in Atlanta.

The IRS sent 11,284 refunds worth a combined $2,164,976 to unauthorized alien workers at a second Atlanta address; 3,608 worth $2,691,448 to a third; and 2,386 worth $1,232,943 to a fourth.

Other locations on the IG’s Top Ten list for singular addresses that were theoretically used simultaneously by thousands of unauthorized alien workers, included an address in Oxnard, Calif, where the IRS sent 2,507 refunds worth $10,395,874; an address in Raleigh, North Carolina, where the IRS sent 2,408 refunds worth $7,284,212; an address in Phoenix, Ariz., where the IRS sent 2,047 refunds worth $5,558,608; an address in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., where the IRS sent 1,972 refunds worth $2,256,302; an address in San Jose, Calif., where the IRS sent 1,942 refunds worth $5,091,027; and an address in Arvin, Calif., where the IRS sent 1,846 refunds worth $3,298,877.

Since 1996, the IRS has issued what it calls Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITINs) to two classes of persons: 1) non-resident aliens who have a tax liability in the United States, and 2) aliens living in the United States who are “not authorized to work in the United States.”

The IRS has long known it was giving these numbers to illegal aliens, and thus facilitating their ability to work illegally in the United States. For example, the Treasury Inspector General’s Semiannual Report to Congress published on Oct. 29, 1999—nearly fourteen years ago—specifically drew attention to this problem.

“The IRS issues Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITINs) to undocumented aliens to improve nonresident alien compliance with tax laws. This IRS practice seems counter-productive to the Immigration and Naturalization Service’s (INS) mission to identify undocumented aliens and prevent unlawful alien entry,” TIGTA warned in that long-ago report.

The inspector general’s 2012 audit report on the IRS’s handling of ITINs was spurred by two IRS employees who went to members of Congress "alleging that IRS management was requiring employees to assign Individual Taxpayer Identification Numbers (ITIN) even when the applications were fraudulent.”

In an August 2012 press release accompanying the audit report, TIGTA said the report “validated” the complaints of the IRS employees.

“TIGTA’s audit found that IRS management has not established adequate internal controls to detect and prevent the assignment of an ITIN to individuals submitting questionable applications,” said Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration J. Russell George. “Even more troubling, TIGTA found an environment which discourages employees from detecting fraudulent applications.”

In addition to the 23,994 tax refunds worth a combined $46,378,040 that the IRS sent to a single address in Atlanta, the IG also discovered that the IRS had assigned 15,796 ITINs to unauthorized aliens who presumably used a single Atlanta address.

The IRS, according to TIGTA, also assigned ITINs to 15,028 unauthorized aliens presumably using a single address in Dallas, Texas, and 10,356 to unauthorized aliens presumably living at a single address in Atlantic City, N.J.

Perhaps the most remarkable act of the IRS was this: It assigned 6,411 ITINs to unauthorized aliens presumably using a single address in Morganton, North Carolina. According to the 2010 Census, there were only 16,681 people in Morganton. So, for the IRS to have been correct in issuing 6,411 ITINS to unauthorized aliens at a single address in Morganton it would have meant that 38 percent of the town’s total population were unauthorized alien workers using a single address.

TIGTA said there were 154 addresses around the country that appeared on 1,000 or more ITIN applications made to the IRS.

Bookworm has some things to say about the illegal alien rapists in Maryland, and the sociopaths in that state's school system and legislature

Since you all are hungry for news and keep abreast of things, you already know about the two young men who, despite being 17 and 18, and despite being manifestly in this country illegally, got enrolled as freshman at Rockville High School in Maryland. And you know that they dragged a 14-year-old girl into the restroom and brutally raped her. You may also know that the MSM has assiduously ignored this story, which doesn’t fit with the narrative of “illegal aliens as victims.” (I’m tired of calling them “immigrants.” It implies a legitimate journey to a new world. They’re aliens here.)

But did you know that the school superintendent for the Rockville High School district responded to the incident by defending allowing illegal immigrants into Maryland schools? That is, he defended allowing people who waltzed into this country on their own recognizance, without any government oversight, to just walk into an American high school.

Were he not so wrapped up in his cloud of Leftist self-righteousness, the superintendent might have noticed something that Ann Coulter had the bravery to call out, which is that people who come from backward agrarian societies have a propensity to commit child rape. They’re not as bad as those Muslims who accept the Imam’s dictums that all females are rape-worthy if they’re not locked away or outfitted in tents, but they’re more likely to do it than the average American. (And no, I’m not calling all illegal aliens rapists. But I am saying they have a cultural propensity and I’m not backing down from that fact.) As someone said, we shouldn’t be inviting people into our country who have to be taught after they arrive not to rape.

To me, that superintendent is a sociopath, putting his selfish emotional need for virtue signaling ahead of the needs of America’s children. He’s not the only one, though.

The entire Maryland legislature seems to be a haven for sociopaths. In the wake of the rape, the legislature passed a bill announcing that it is now a sanctuary state. I hope that Trump moves hard and fast to defund every single sanctuary city, state, or county in America. He’s already waited too long in my humble estimation.

We can choose not to wear the gag of political correctness

Being here illegally is not a mere technicality. This is not a simple matter of a lack of documentation, as if the issue is that Jose went from Oaxaca to Fresno and getting the proper paperwork somehow slipped his mind. Ironically, one of the many problems posed by illegal aliens is that they are documented – with fake identifications, fake work papers, and fake Social Security numbers.

While they are not all “workers,” they are all “aliens.” The illegal alien scumbag who murdered Kate Steinle wasn’t a busy little beaver bringing home the chorizo to his family, all of whom were likewise employed. Calling them “workers” is simply another lie designed to distract from the critical point – many aren’t “workers,” and those of us who aren’t aliens are paying for them.

"Anchor babies?" Schlichter writes,

...“anchor babies” are not merely “babies.” They are the babies of illegal aliens birthed within the territory and jurisdiction of the U.S.A. (sorry, 14th Amendment revisionists) who are then used as a means for the rest of their family to stay here permanently and weasel from us benefits to which they are not morally entitled.

A “baby,” in contrast, is any kind of baby – unless it’s been carried into a Planned Parenthood butcher shop.

Of course, the language liars don’t only try their scam when the subject is illegal immigration. Everyone remembers “global warming,” which got replaced by “climate change” when the globe failed to cooperate and warm. With “climate change,” every kind of weather supports their thesis. Hotter, colder, the same, it doesn’t matter – it’s critical to give liberal elites more of our money and sovereignty right now or else weather will keep happening!

And then there’s “thug,” which is the perfect term to describe an enormous strong-arm robber who unwisely decided to try and punch out a cop. The left would replace this accurate, evocative descriptor with “honor student,” as if Michael Brown was wearing his mortarboard when he tossed around that convenience store clerk prior to making his final miscalculation.

What happened in Baltimore was a “riot” perpetrated by “criminals,” not a “demonstration” conducted by “community members.”

The losers trying to murder Westerners from Tunisia to Chattanooga are “Islamic terrorists,” not generic “militants” whose shouts of “Allah akbar” offer no hint about their motivation. When a jihadi fanboy murders over a dozen Americans in a (good guy only) gun-free zone, it is “terrorism,” not “workplace violence.”

No, it’s not “a procedure” used to extract “products of conception” that are then “donated for research.” It’s the “dismemberment of a human baby by giggling ghouls who sell off the shredded pieces to the highest bidder.” Maybe if the mom was an illegal alien it would become a “baby,” and the liberals would finally object to it being torn apart.

Politically, pushing back against PC is a winning strategy. Donald Trump has practically built his whole campaign around doing that. Jeb Bush got his first good news cycle in months by refusing to kow tow. Others did too when they showed some courage; Marco Rubio put months of rebuilding at risk when he didn’t.

People are tired of being commanded to lie, because when you consciously use language that fails to fully and accurately describe its subject, that’s a lie. Political correctness is a gag we choose to wear ourselves. And we can choose not to.
