The Washington Post is sued for $250,000,000 by the Covington Kid

Here it comes, ladies and gentlemen: the first lawsit filed by the parents of Nick Sandmann. This one is against Jeff Bezos' Washington Post. There are 53 other defendents to come. His lawyer, Lin Wood, tells the truth in this filing.

2.In a span of three (3) days in January of this year commencing on January 19, the Post engaged in a modern-day form of McCarthyism by competing with CNN and NBC, among others, to claim leadership of a mainstream and social media mob of bullies which attacked, vilified, and threatened Nicholas Sandmann ("Nicholas"), an innocent secondary school child.

3.The Post wrongfully targeted and bullied Nicholas because he was the white, Catholic student wearing a red "Make America Great Again" souvenir cap on a school field trip to the January 18 March for Life in Washington, D.C.when he was unexpectedly and suddenly confronted by Nathan Phillips ("Phillips"), a known Native American activist, who beat a drum and sang loudly within inches of his face ("the January 18 incident").

4.Nicholas stood quietly and respectfully for several minutes after being targeted and bullied by Phillips and Nicholas’body language remained non-aggressive and passive throughout the incident.

7.In targeting and bullying Nicholas by falsely accusing him of instigating the January 18 incident, the Post conveyed that Nicholas engaged in acts of racism by "swarming" Phillips, "blocking" his exit away from the students,and otherwise engaging in racist misconduct.

8.The Post ignored basic journalist standards because it wanted to advance its well-known and easily documented, biased agenda against President Donald J. Trump("the President") by impugning individuals perceived to be supporters of the President.

9.As a 16-year old secondary school student, Nicholas' political beliefs are anything but established and entrenched in his young mind.

10.Nicholas has zero history of political activism or aggressiveness and did not exhibit any such conduct even when confronted with unbridled racist attacks by activist bullies at the National Mall.

11.The Post's campaign to target Nicholas in furtherance of its political agenda was carried out by using its vast financial resources to enter the bully pulpit
by publishing a series of false and defamatory print and online articles which effectively provided a worldwide megaphone to Phillips and other anti-Trump individuals and entities to smear a young boy who was in its view an acceptable casualty in their war against the President.

12.Unlike the Post's abuse of the profession of journalism, Plaintiffs do not bring this lawsuit to use the judicial system to further a political agenda. This lawsuit is brought against the Post to seek legal redress for its negligent, reckless, and malicious attacks on Nicholas which caused permanent damage to his life and reputation.

13.The Post bullied an innocent child with an absolute disregard for the pain and destruction its attacks would cause to his life.

14.The Post proved itself to be aloud and aggressive bully with a bully pulpit.

15.In this country, our society is dedicated to the protection of children regardless of the color of their skin, their religious beliefs,or the cap they wear.

16.But the Post did not care about protecting Nicholas. To the contrary, the Post raced with a reckless disregard of the facts and truth because in this day and time there is a premium for being the first and loudest media bully.

17.The Post wanted to lead the charge against this child because he was a pawn in its political war against its political adversary –a war so disconnected and beyond the comprehension of Nicholas that it might as well have been science fiction.

18.The Post must be dealt with the same way every bully is dealt with and that is hold the bully fully accountable for its wrongdoing in a manner which effectively deters the bully from again bullying other children. In a civil lawsuit, punishment and deterrence is found in awarding money damages to the victim and target of the bully.

19.In order to fully compensate Nicholas for his damages and to punish, deter,and teach the Post a lesson it will never forget, this action seeks money damages in excess of Two Hundred and Fifty Million Dollars ($250,000,000.00) --the amount Jeff Bezos, the world's richest person, paid in cash for the Post when his company, Nash Holdings, purchased the newspaper in 2013.

"the America we remember from before the Obama Wasted Decade"

In Spectator, Dov Fischer writes an open letter to Covington, Kentucky's Nick Sandmann. Here are some excerpts.

In America we protect the biased Left mediacracy — people like CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, CBS, the New York Times, and the Washington Post. These people report mostly true on local interest stories like a county fair or a new restaurant, but they intentionally distort and lie deliberately on national public-interest stories. You know that first-hand because you now have experienced it directly. That is why the President calls them “the enemy of the people” — because they are. They deliberately distort the truth and reality of what is happening in order to mislead the public into believing an alternate reality. When Walter Duranty of the same New York Times did that during the Stalin Years, he and theNew York Times contributed to the murder of millions of people who otherwise might have been saved if the truth of the Holodomor had come out. Instead, the people died, murdered by the enemies of the people. The same New York Times in a small way helped Hitler gas, bury, and incinerate millions of Jews during the Holocaust by hiding his crimes from the public. Did you know that the Times ran 23,000 front-page stories from 1939-1945, of which 11,500 were about the World War — but only twenty-six about Hitler’s mistreatment of Jews? Of course these evil villains are the enemies of the people.

...There is no way on G-d’s earth that anyone could have prepared you for the Crazy America that exists outside Covington. I know Covington very well; I lived a year in Kentucky and spent time in Covington every few weeks. Covington is a beautiful small city. I would bring my kids to see the Carroll Chimes Bell Tower and Clock depicting the Pied Piper of Hamelin in Mainstrasse Village. Nick, the “big shots” in New York City (where I used to live) and in Los Angeles (near where I now live) look down on Kentucky. They think you guys are a bunch of small-town redneck hicks. That is how they myopically view the whole gorgeous state of Kentucky. But that is because they do not know what they do not know. Covington is a beautiful city with beautiful people in a beautiful state. In Manhattan, by contrast, the intellectuals need to have four door locks on their apartment entrances that they have to lock and unlock, one-two-three-four, just to get in and out, because they are afraid of break-ins and being mugged. They have special “police locks” that not only get bolted into their front doors but into the floor, because crooks still break through the other three door locks. It’s like living in “Fauda.” When they travel on their overcrowded, over-priced, always-late, often broken down subways, they keep their eyes shut or focused on the floor because they are taught never to look anyone in the eye since he might be crazy and kill them if he thinks they are looking at him. By contrast, in Covington everyone is friendly and trusting. In Kentucky, people greet strangers openly and welcome outsiders warmly. It is safe to look at people in the eye in Covington. So it turns out that people in Covington are a lot smarter, and New Yorkers are a lot stupider, than either group thinks. In Covington, a country boy can survive.

New Yorkers in the Left Media cannot understand why CovCath boys like you would smile in the faces of people like that lying phony Native American “Vietnam Vet.” That is because in New York they never would have smiled at him in the first place, figuring he might have a knife or a tomahawk, so they would have run away from him. The Left Media do not understand a culture where you actually look people in the eye, smile their way, and stand your ground.

By now, we all know what happened that Friday in D.C. Some crazy, insane Black people who think they are Jews — Black Hebrew Israelites (and, by the way, they are welcome to have George Soros) — came into the area, yelling insults and racial epithets at some Native Americans. You kids from Covington Catholic innocently got caught in the middle of two sets of circus acts. In time, the Black Hebrew Crazies started calling you guys names, too, and the Native American nut with the drum starting marching right up to you, beating his drum, walking closer and closer, until he was beating his drum practically in your face. Really, Nicholas — a dimension of sight and sound, a land of shadow and substance, the teens of CovCath inadvertently stepped into the Twilight Zone.

New Yorkers are trained for situations like that — to start running away: maybe he has a knife, maybe a gun, maybe a hatchet. But you are from Covington, so you proudly stood your ground. You did not back away. You demonstrated the best of the Covington Catholic education you have gotten by standing your ground and just smiling at him. That smile said: “I am here in peace. I am not going to be incited into escalating your menacing confrontation. So you can go on beating that stupid drum of yours all day, Ringo, but I am not going to back off, nor will I be drawn into a fight. Because I am here to support life and the rights of the unborn.”

...Nick, this country became a very nasty place during the Wasted Obama Decade. Obama destroyed something precious that we Americans had. We had become a post-racial society where people finally were not being judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character. Obama destroyed that, but as you know he never quite impacted northeastern Kentucky. That indeed is why so many of us hope that somehow we will yet be able to make America great again. You got a taste of how nasty it can get when you leave Covington and walk into the swamp of Washington, D.C. But we got a taste by watching your dignified stance of what the Other America is, the America we remember from before the Obama Wasted Decade.

...You and your classmates never should have been criticized by your local Diocese. The Diocese embarrassed itself nationally when they instantly criticized CovCath kids without having the facts. That was a national disgrace, doing unto you guys what they would not have wanted others to do unto them. Lev. 11. If they must publicly criticize a Catholic, let them pick on someone their own size and comment instead on New York Governor Cuomo’s new “Gosnell Law” that legalizes tearing the limbs of fetuses apart, limb by limb, as late as nine months into pregnancy. But tell them to bang the drum slowly.

Roger Kimball wrote about the Covington Catholic kids last Sunday before the longer second video became available. One week later, he writes in American Greatness,

When I wrote about the now-infamous Covington Boys incident last Sunday, I had no idea that it would become the most sensational story of the week. I wrote before seeing the longer video of the incident but, even so, thought that the cataract of abuse that the boys were subjected to was way over the top. I acknowledged, “of all human passions, the passion of moral self-righteousness is the most delicious,” but went on to observe that “the problem is, the people who are the objects of our indignation often present a more complicated reality than we first assume.”

So, of course, it turned out to be with the boys from Covington Catholic. The boys did not approach or taunt the drum-beating fake-Vietnam-vet creep of an Indian activist Nathan Phillips. On the contrary, he waded in among them, obnoxiously taunting them while my new favorite group of wackos, the Black Hebrew Israelites, hurled a variety of racist and sexual slurs at the high school students as they waited for a bus to whisk them back to Kentucky after their participation in the annual pro-life March for Life.

Neither fact was clear from the original brief clip of the incident. The pretend Tonto, beating his drum, and skirling incoherently, stands there in front of Nick Sandmann, the MAGA-behatted Covington Catholic student whose visage has burned up the internet this last week. Sandmann just stands there smiling uncertainly. (His expression was widely derided as a “smirk,” but I disagree with that diagnosis: I think it is a nervous smile). His schoolmates stand behind him clapping and cheering and generally comporting themselves as well-brought-up male teenagers should when suddenly confronted by unexpected rudeness.

The wild abuse these boys, and especially Sandmann (whose name was not known for a day or two) was Brett Kavanaughesque in its viciousness and utter lack of foundation. Also for its promiscuous nature. Catholic bishops and officials from the boys’ school joined CNN lefties and HuffPo brats in calling down anathema on his head. A school announcement mentioned expulsion as a possible response to his behavior, while an angry lefty contacted a college to which she thought he had applied to encourage administrators not to admit him. (Actually, the instigator of this vile intervention got the name wrong, something for which she later apologized, without, nota bene, apologizing to Sandmann.) Then came the death threats and public shaming and calls for violence, credible enough that Covington Catholic was shuttered for a few days. The boys’ parents meanwhile have lawyered up and I wish them well in their defamation suits.

...Stepping back from the episode, one gets the sense that most conservative commentators are inexpressibly grateful for the release of that longer video. It offered the perfect instrument of expiation. “If only we had known about the Black Hebrew Israelites,” they seem to have said, “if only we had known that Nathan Phillips was the instigator, and a mountebank to boot, then we would not have come down on these boys like a ton of bricks and tried to ruin their lives. Thank God for the video.”

...The public—though not, for the most part, the academic elite—has reacted with condign disgust at the treatment of the boys from Covington Catholic. It knows that Nathan Phillips is no more “native American” than Nick Sandmann: both were born here and have equal title to American natality. And it senses that the culprit is the political correctness that has distorted our common life and even our ability to speak the truth about sensitive issues. If there is a silver lining in this disturbing episode, it is that public revulsion at this episode may, just possibly, spark a reconsideration of our ill-advised and demeaning adherence to the tenets of political correctness.

This story is truly awesome. It's really a clarifying moment for all. Aside from NR, Hewitt drama, let's talk about what's really going on here.

We are 72 hours into a story generated by the allegation that a teenager wearing a MAGA hat, invaded the personal space and smiled at an American Indian and Vietnam veteran counter-protestor. This is the bar for getting breathless 24/hr national media scrutiny, complete with death threats and scorched-earth campaign against family members and organizations with which you associate.

See, the message here is, again, that the Progressive left, private sector, is in the midst of an undefended blitzkrieg op to silence conservatives, generally, and Trump supporters, in particular. How many moron parents feel excited about encouraging your conservative kids to exercise their 1st Amendment rights as of today? How many of you are today less apt to attend rallies or protests in support of Conservative issues? And THIS is the entire point of this story and why it's blown up.

The absolute worst people in this entire debacle is the bishop of the diocese and nearby archbishop that threw these children under the bus. The school principle had the decency to hold off on any comment until he found more information. He has a place in Heaven.

The catholic church hierarchy of the diocese decided to join the mob that was crucifying Christ on the cross attacking these children without even giving them any chance to respond. I would suggest they look up the meaning of seppuku but they should not do it. Death will is not a release for them. When they appear at the golden gates, the only opening in my wall, they are going straight to Hell.
