"So during the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings that the national media helped the Democrats turn into a complete farce (Kavanaugh was asked not not one question about his judicial decisions or philosophy by any Democrat), an unpaid intern in Sheila Jackson Lee's office doxed some GOP senators, they busted him, and he'll soon be a doing two to five stretch in a federal PMITA prison. Which is great. The dirtbag is getting what he deserved. But here's the thing: ordinary, normal Americans get doxed and swatted by left-wing goons all the time, and not much ever seems to happen, even when the goons are known. Here, the perp made the mistake of going after powerful, influential public officials and the full weight of the law comes crashing down full force on his head. I just wish we had a government that would work to punish those who try to hurt me as hard as it does protecting the privacy rights of powerful officials."

Someone writes Andrew: There is evil on earth because God does not want to force us to follow Him. In order for it to be a true relationship there must be freedom of choice. But the prospect of eternal damnation for choosing not to have a relationship with the Creator seems like putting a gun to your head and telling you that you are totally free to choose!

Andrew answers, "We live in a world where there are consequences. If you follow your instincts toward virtue, you are going to get there. If not, you already know you are doing the wrong thing., and that there will be consequences. As you go into the afterlife, the consequences continue.

Ace of Spades tells #NeverTrumpers that they are responsible if Hillary Clinton wins the presidency.

Sorry, I was on Twitter. I felt it was necessary to dispel the widely-held myth, adored by #NeverTrumpers, that somehow attacking Trump relentlessly does not aid Hillary Clinton, and that they are not choosing Hillary Clinton by choosing to be NeverTrump.

All choices have consequences. By supporting Trump, I am responsible for the consequences of a Trump victory -- and those consequences could indeed be dire.

But a childish morally-unserious fantasy has infected the #NeverTrump not-so-intellgentsia, that they can agitate for Hillary Clinton -- by relentlessly disparaging Trump -- and somehow, they are not responsible for the consequences of the Hillary presidency they are bucking for.

...I tried to explain to them that there is no such thing as a consequence-free choice -- all choices have consequences, both on the upside and the downside -- and both the upside and downswide consequences must be considered by any adult, intellectually-serious person in making his choice.

Yet the #NeverTrumpers claim that the obvious, inescapable outcome of their position -- that Hillary Clinton will be the president -- is not their responsibility, just because they didn't intend that as a pirmary matter.

No, but they were completely aware it was the natural and inevitable consequence of their position.

So why would a Trump supporter be responsible for a foreign policy catastrophe he didn't even know for a fact would happen, when a #NeverTrumper claims to be innocent of the Hillary Presidency they know beyond a shadow of any doubt is the direct and inescapable consequence of the NeverTrump posiition?

They're responsible for it. They don't want to be, but they are.

I don't particularly want to be on the hook for a Trump presidency, but, being a morally serious person who has not yet delegated my thinking to the Twitter Hivemind, I recognize that by taking the action of lending him my support, I am responsible for the conseqyences of that act.

...I understand the #NeverTrump impulse. I've expressed it myself. After Trump's boorish, vulgar, half-insane attack on Cruz's wife, I announced "I'm done" with Trump and vowed to never vote for him.

I understand #NeverTrump, emotionally. I think there's merit in the position.

However, we have difficult choices to make. And difficult choices should be treated as what they are -- difficult, hard choices requiring moral seriousness and rigorous cost-benefit analysis.

The young woman is pepper sprayed, which looks terrible, but she's also seen smacking or trying to smack a man on the head. There's some confusing discussion of "groping." There might be a groping off camera. I've looked at several of the available angles, and I do see 2 hands holding her back, touching her on one shoulder (as she is getting very fervent vocally, aiming the word "fuck" right in the face of the white-haired man).

I'm connecting this incident with the San Francisco State dreadlocks confrontation — blogged here — and the charging of Corey Lewandowski. In the SFSU case, the woman grabs the man, and in the Corey Lewandowski case, the woman is touched only after she touches Donald Trump twice. There seems to be a traditional stereotype at play that ignores or minimizes battery by a female and holds the male responsible to refrain from doing anything physical, even in self-defense. It's an interesting stereotype. Perhaps you support it. The man should never hit the woman, even if she is hitting him. But how does that traditional model work in modern conditions of demanded equality, in which a woman actively participates in a rowdy protest or pursues journalism aggressively or instigates a confrontation with a passing stranger?

Radio talk show host Dan Caplis has a different take on the NFL Commissioner: he did not protect the integrity of the game, because he gave Tom Brady a slap on the wrist, but did not slap a personal penalty on coach Bill Belichick or owner Bob Kraft. Caplis thinks they should have all been suspended from the league for at least one year. Caplis thinks pro football is well on its way to becoming the same as pro wrestling.

What is the message being sent to our children? Maybe we should ask Bill and Hillary Clinton?
