'A Border Wall Is Immoral,' Says Political Party Advocating For Infanticide

U.S.—Stressing that a barrier at the southern border would be shameful and discriminatory, Democrats again declared Thursday that constructing a wall at the U.S.-Mexico border for national security purposes would be “immoral,” while they continued to gleefully advocate for legalized infanticide.

“Trump’s wall is an immorality. It’s just cruel. America is better than this,” insisted Speaker Nancy Pelosi, one day after representatives from her party pushed legislation that would allow killing unborn children moments before birth, while the mother is in labor, and even leaving babies to die after being born alive.

Speaker Pelosi further argued that a border wall is unnecessary and “just plain racist,” just as news broke that the largest Fentanyl bust in history had occurred in Arizona, as a semi attempting to transport into the U.S. 254 pounds of the deadly opioid—the equivalent of 115 million fatal doses—was detained by federal officers, who noted to the press that the drug was responsible for 20,000 American deaths in 2017.

“We will not give one dollar for the immoral wall, period,” Pelosi declared. “We need to allocate taxpayer money toward honorable and humane purposes, like the half-billion we give Planned Parenthood each year to kill 330,000 unborn children.”

...So we lost this round? So what? We’ve lost before, and we’ll lose again. This is for the long-haul folks. It’s a marathon, not a sprint. There’s no magic wand where one term of Vitamin D cures a century of progressive pathology.

Trump’s instincts have been right all along. We doubted he could win. He did. We doubted he would actually remake the courts. He has. We doubted he’d fight for the wall, but he did, and he paid a price. Who else would have withstood the heat this long? Who would have even picked the fight?

Did any of you see any indication at all that the shutdown tactic was about to deliver us victory, that it was not becoming a drag? Me neither. Cut your losses. Pull back here, counter-attack there.

We’ve been attacking for two years, racking up conservative triumphs you’ve never experienced unless you were one of us who was of age during the Reagan years. Justices Gorsuch and Kavanaugh – what other GOP president would have held course and made them happen? Trump’s remaking the courts and rebuilding our military. He gutted Obamacare and Obama’s regulations. He’s pulling us out of useless wars, useless agreements with Iran, and useless climate change scams. He’s got clarity on Israel, on the garbage mainstream media, and America’s useless elite.

Remember that in the days before the shutdown truce, we had won a huge victory over the garbage mainstream media by exposing their lies about the Covington kids and the drum-banging Frigidaireborne ranger. Buzzfeed first had its lies about the president exposed and then had to make massive lay-offs. HuffPo Opinion died. Even the SWAT raid on Roger Stone turned out to have zilch to do with collusion, as usual.

Jack Phillips reports at Epoch Times that

A GoFundMe campaign to fund the southern border wall will refund all money to donors because it didn’t meet its $1 billion goal, said Bobby Whithorne, director of North America Communications for GoFundMe, CBS News reported.

Donors will get their money back on April 11, unless they choose to donate their contribution to campaign creator Brian Kolfage’s new venture.

Kolfage, a triple-amputee Air Force veteran, raised more than $20 million via the crowd-funding website to build a wall along the U.S.-Mexico border.

“When I created this fundraiser, I said if we did not reach our goal we will refund donors. I am honoring that commitment today. We will promptly refund your donation unless you tell us you approve our new plan for action,” he said via GoFundMe in a Jan. 11 update.

More reasons for a wall

In The Daily Wire, Ryan Saavedra has a video produced by the RNC showing some reasons why we need a border wall. Ryan also lists these RNC website talking points: The website laid out five facts that will be part of the Republican Party's push to get Democrats to take action on border security:

Fact #1: In four Customs and Border Protection sectors where physical barriers have been expanded — El Paso, Yuma, Tucson, and San Diego — illegal traffic has dropped by at least 90%.

Fact #2: In fiscal year 2018, U.S. Border Patrol seized or helped seize 282,000 pounds of cocaine, 248,000 pounds of methamphetamine, 6,500 pounds of heroin, and 2,400 pounds of fentanyl.

Fact #3: In 2018, over 17,000 adults arrested at the border had prior criminal records. This included over 6,000 gang members, a major number of those members were from MS-13.

Fact #4: The Democrats would rather risk the safety of hard-working Americans than work with President Trump to secure our nation’s borders. But in 2013, all 54 Senate Democrats, including Chuck Schumer, voted to pass legislation that provided $46 billion to build a physical barrier on the border.

Fact #5: Nancy Pelosi and her hyper-liberal Congressional colleagues just passed a bill to give $54 BILLION to foreign governments, but Democrats won’t allow just $5 billion to secure our borders and protect American citizens.

The site also highlighted previous statements made by Democrat leaders going all the way back to the Clinton administration.

"When we use phrases like 'undocumented workers,' we convey a message to the American people that their government is not serious about combating illegal immigration, which the American people overwhelmingly oppose," Senator Chuck Schumer said in 2009. "If you don't think it's illegal, you are not going to say it. I think it is illegal and wrong, and we have to change it."

It seemed like the long-awaited border wall funding had finally slipped into the political abyss. Then, under withering criticism from conservatives and other supporters of the border wall, President Trump reversed course, making it clear that the remaining portions of the budget will only be signed once he receives funding for the wall. On December 20, Republicans in the House of Representatives responded by passing substantial border wall funding in the form of a bill allocating $5.7 billion for the wall and close to $8 billion in disaster relief for areas hit hard by this year’s hurricanes and wildfires.

While the $5.7 billion falls short of the $21.6 billion that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) estimated it would take to complete the border wall, it is a substantial step in the right direction. DHS estimated that the $21.6 billion would fund a border wall that would extend almost the entire length of the border and would add about 1,250 miles to the border wall, which stood at 654 miles (at the time of the DHS report). $5.7 billion would fund over one-quarter of the border wall and allows President Trump to construct approximately 330 miles of additional border wall in the most vulnerable and dangerous parts of the border.

This leaves budget reconciliation as the only option to pass the $5.7 billion in border wall funding. Budget reconciliation, like the nuclear option, allows for a simple majority of 51 votes in the Senate to pass legislation, rather than the normally required 60 votes. However, unlike the nuclear option, it would not break precedent and would likely enable the border funding bill to pass. In May 2018, the Heritage Foundation recommended that Republicans pass the 2019 budget using budget reconciliation. This would have resulted in a superior budget to the current budget and would have included substantial border wall funding because it would not have required support from the Democrats.

...It is even more likely that Republicans will pass $5.7 billion with reconciliation than if the bill would have funded $25 billion because all but one of the Republican senators are needed to vote in favor of this bill. While detractors of the bill in the Democrat party decry spending billions of dollars protecting the southern border, funding the border wall is a very small amount of money compared to the estimated 2019 budget of $4.448 trillion. $5.7 billion is only 0.128% or 1/780 as compared to the budget. And spending so little on the border wall to protect U.S. national security and fulfill a basic campaign promise is the least that can be done.

Bah Humbug!

Dov Fischer writes at the American Spectator about the government shutdown,

...Nothing has changed, and nothing is going to change. The furloughed federal workers all will get their back-pay in the mail as soon as the Government reopens. Mueller will keep doing that thing he does. His funding reliably is there, if he likes, through January 21, 2024. The House Democrats will have no problem getting federal payments made to their dozens of investigators and lawyers as they ramp up the next two years of non-stop investigations into Trump’s taxes, Trump’s hotels, Trump’s golf swing, Trump’s hairspray. The Democrats still will have the money to fly to D.C. every Monday morning and to fly back home for weekends. The shutdown is all a big nothing. Or, in the spirit of the season: Bah humbug.

...So let the Government stay closed, even for a year, even for two. It does not matter. Let the House Democrats investigate for two years; they would be doing it anyway. If they dare vote for impeachment, it never will pass the Senate, and the voters will make them pay for wasting two years, blocking the Wall, and accomplishing nothing.

And if G-d forbid anything crosses that southern border that causes damage any time during the next two years — more opioid deaths, more human trafficking, more MS-13 animals, weapons used for terror, or terrorists themselves — the lack of that Wall will tumble down on them.
