Mark Steyn, on President's Day this year, posted this video in which he shows how President Trump's views about the lying press were identical to the views of Thomas Jefferson when Jefferson was president.

Mark takes a look at the "fact-checkers" at Politifact. Three of them "fact-checked" remarks about Sweden by President Trump. Mark concluded that the "fact-checkers" don't want us to know what has been happening in Sweden. Every day this year Sweden has taken in 90 migrant boys and only 8 migrant girls. In the space of only two years, Sweden has caught up with China in sex imbalance!

Swedish blondes are dying their hair dark, so as not to attract the attention of excitable rapists. Can feminism exist when you have mass migration from countries where women are property? Police are asking Swedish women to wear a bracelet that asks in Arabic language men not to rape them! These are the stories that American media never tell us because their principal function is to decide what you don't need to know!

Donald Trump and Thomas Jefferson are right in their criticisms of the way the press misuses its responsibility to inform free citizens.

Sweden's path of cultural and societal suicide

...the Swedes have chosen a path of cultural and societal suicide that puts all other countries in the shade.

For anyone curious about self-destructive psychopathologies, it is a grimly fascinating phenomenon. Why, of all places, Sweden? How can a Swedish woman raped by an illegal Muslim immigrant be so bursting with racial guilt that she hesitates to report the crime to the police for fear that her report might lead to her rapist's punishment or deportation? Or, more generally, because news of the offense might result in an increase in “Islamophobia?"

...This is a country where rapes by Muslim men are systematically ignored by the authorities or responded to with minimal punishment. Routinely, Swedish courts refuse to return these monsters – some of whom have repeatedly subjected small boys and girls to violent sexual abuse – to their home countries for fear that they'll be put in danger. In other words, Swedish judges care more about the safety of foreign rapists than that of Swedish children.

...It's a country where even prominent Swedish feminists – fanatical boosters of multiculturalism – are now moving out of Muslim-heavy neighborhoods not only because of the Muslim rapists but because of the Muslim “morality police,” who are less concerned with monitoring rapists than with controlling women's conduct. (One such feminist organized “coffee shop meetings” with Muslim male community leaders in an attempt to resolve the situation, but gave up.)

It's a country where the government rolls out the red carpet for returning ISIS members, giving them special benefits, in hopes that they'll see the light and put down their weapons.

It's a country where, while Muslim rapists and terrorists are forgiven, critics of immigrant conduct are punished. In May, a 70-year-old woman in Dalarna, Sweden, was arrested for writing on Facebook in 2015 about immigrants who “set cars on fire and urinate and defecate in the streets.” (She faces up to four years in prison.)

No surprise, then, that on July 7, Jyllands-Posten reported that the Swedish government plans to alter the nation's Constitution in such a way as to give itself the power to limit online free speech about precisely these ticklish matters. Among other things, wrote Jyllands-Posten, it will become illegal “for certain websites to publicize information about private persons' ethnicity or conviction of crimes.”

Failures of multiculturalism and feminism in Sweden

Katie Hopkins of MailOnline traveled to Sweden and reported,

I spoke to residents who know burglaries will not be attended, rapes not prosecuted, car fires accepted with a shrug, pepper spray banned in case your rapist is hurt.
Gangs here have rewritten the relationship between crime and punishment. They have gained the upper hand. And they know it. For them, justice is delivered with guns or knives, dominance asserted by unbuttoning their fly.

He will not be silenced. Nor will the stranger in the coffee shop who urged me to keep speaking out. Or the Swedish Democrats determined to force this debate into the centre ground. Or the victims of violent rape who don't care if you think the sexual assault graph is going up or down.
They share a single message; Sweden cannot begin to solve its problems until it starts talking about them.

I'd ask the politicians to step away from the pretty bits which look like the Sweden I imagined. And spend time with the men and women in the dirty places in between.
Places I spent time in pretending to be brave; where a white woman is a whore, first responders are under attack, and the streets are run by gangs who do not fear the law but laugh in its face.

The media jumps all over Trump for his remarks about Sweden

The other night President Trump watched the Tucker Carlson show. Tucker had a guest named Avi Horowitz, who talked about the problems Sweden has had because of the inflow of migrants from the Middle East. Trump referred to the show in his Melbourne speech Saturday. The media went hysterical, claiming that Trump thought there had been a terror attack in Sweden.

Will New Year's Eve in Cologne soon be a year-round event?

A decade ago, in my book America Alone (personally autographed copies of which, etc, etc), I wrote about "the People's Republic's most distinctive structural flaw":

Indeed. Unfortunately, China's "most distinctive structural flaw" is no longer quite so distinctive:

Professor Valerie Hudson, a Texas A&M University professor, said gender imbalances could cause serious problems in the community.

She said societies where men outnumbered women were more susceptible to higher levels of violence, insurgence and mistreatment of women.

Sweden is of particular interest to Professor Hudson, because it has the second-highest number of asylum applications in Europe, relative to its population.

"I looked specifically at the figures that Sweden had provided on its migrants — 71 per cent of whom are male," she said.

"And then in the age group 16 to 17 years old, which is what I focused on, over 90 per cent are male."

Professor Hudson estimated there were about 123 boys for every 100 girls in Sweden.

It took Beijing three decades of a ruthlessly enforced totalitarian crackdown to arrive at a sex imbalance of 119 boys for every 100 girls. Sweden has caught up in nothing flat simply by being the second most welcoming country of "Syrian" "refugees". And Germany is nipping at China's heels, with about 114 boys for every 100 girls - which means New Year's Eve in Cologne may soon be a year-round event:

Professor Hudson said regardless of where the gender balance was the consequences were broadly the same.

"What we have found uniformly is a rise in crime, particularly violent crime, property crime, crime against women," she said.

"We also see much more ease of recruitment into criminal gangs, or quasi-rebel/social movement-type gangs.

"We also see across the board a more constrained lifestyle for women and there's also a significant rise in demand for trafficked women, either as 'brides' or prostitutes."

The most enlightened progressive feminists in the planet are ushering in a world where Rotherham and Cologne are the new normal. Fortunately for Frau Merkel, she's a bit long in the tooth to have much value to sex-traffickers.

What is the Stockhom syndrome now?

Mark Steyn includes this photo of Muslim men praying in Stockholm, Sweden, as Steyn writes,

Scandinavia is much admired by Bernie Sanders and other liberal progressives as the natural end-point of civilized societies. Sanders et al neglect the most salient feature of these Nordic boutique states: They are highly developed societies with a small population (Sweden has just under ten million people, Denmark about five million) that until very recently was racially and culturally homogeneous and with the necessary high degree of social solidarity to sustain a welfare state. Importing large numbers of young men from the most institutionally misogynist societies on earth to live among blonde Swedish totty would be an unlikely recipe for social stability, but that's no reason not to give it a go.

...What do the Swedish people get for doubling the size of their immigration service? Well, a lot of bonnie, bouncing, bearded infants:

Whistleblower Merit Wager revealed on her blog that administrators at the Immigration Service had all been ordered to "accept the claim that an applicant is a child, if he does not look as if he is over 40."

This matters because, in most EU countries, a "child" gets a firmer grip on the public teat than a mere "refugee" adult does. A 17-year-old "refugee" is entitled to the same treatment in law as a 17-year-old child citizen. So every refugee is now 17 going on 18.

...President Obama said the other day that fears of ISIS were overblown because it's not an "existential" threat to the United States. Maybe not to America, not yet. But the convulsions set in motion by ISIS and Obama may well prove an existential threat to Sweden. I wouldn't be surprised to see it entirely implode under the weight of its delusions. And where then will Bernie Sanders look for his societal role models?
