It is about trust

Recently, Hugh Hewitt was named by some bloggers as being one of the people who jumped on the Covington kids unfairly, before a second video appeared, showing the aggressiveness of the Black Hebrew Israelites and the obnoxious in-your-face drumming of Nathan Phillips. I went to Hugh's blog to see what he had said, but could find nothing. Did he delete his comments? If so, that would be very disappointing to me.

Later, I visited our local library and saw his book, BLOG, in the books-for-sale section. and bought it. He wrote it in 2005. He reminds us that blogging is all about earning trust. That is what the Swift Boaters did in destroying John Kerry's candidacy and other bloggers did in destroying Dan Rather's career.

From page XXI of his introduction: ..."The blogosphere is about trust. CNN lost the trust it once had and its fall has been sudden and shattering. FOX News is trusted by millions, so its numbers have shot up, much to the dismay of lefties..."

I know Hugh was on the CNN team during the presidential debates and he regularly appears on the far, far left MSNBC. I guess he has earned their trust.

This story is truly awesome. It's really a clarifying moment for all. Aside from NR, Hewitt drama, let's talk about what's really going on here.

We are 72 hours into a story generated by the allegation that a teenager wearing a MAGA hat, invaded the personal space and smiled at an American Indian and Vietnam veteran counter-protestor. This is the bar for getting breathless 24/hr national media scrutiny, complete with death threats and scorched-earth campaign against family members and organizations with which you associate.

See, the message here is, again, that the Progressive left, private sector, is in the midst of an undefended blitzkrieg op to silence conservatives, generally, and Trump supporters, in particular. How many moron parents feel excited about encouraging your conservative kids to exercise their 1st Amendment rights as of today? How many of you are today less apt to attend rallies or protests in support of Conservative issues? And THIS is the entire point of this story and why it's blown up.

The absolute worst people in this entire debacle is the bishop of the diocese and nearby archbishop that threw these children under the bus. The school principle had the decency to hold off on any comment until he found more information. He has a place in Heaven.

The catholic church hierarchy of the diocese decided to join the mob that was crucifying Christ on the cross attacking these children without even giving them any chance to respond. I would suggest they look up the meaning of seppuku but they should not do it. Death will is not a release for them. When they appear at the golden gates, the only opening in my wall, they are going straight to Hell.

The Tonight Show, starring Hugh Hewitt

Tonight I attended a program put on by radio station KNUS. Hugh Hewitt, who has been living in Colorado since August, hosted the show, ala Johnny Carson, of Tonight Show fame. There were three nationally known guests in addition to Hugh: Guy Benson, Katie Pavlich, and Kirsten Powers. Benson said last night's debate had the effect of unifying the GOP candidates, with the exception of John Kasich, in opposition to the horrible interviewers from CNBC. Benson characterized the Democratic candidates as "geriatric has-beens," which may have been an unfortunate choice of words, since it pretty much described tonight's audience. Kirsten Powers was most powerful when speaking about her conversion to Christianity, which she said had perplexed many of her liberal friends, since their religion is Democrat politics.

The second half of the show featured four local talk show hosts. Peter Boyles gave us some insight into alcoholism, which he says is a shame-based genetically predisposed disease, not a behavior, in which the doctor and patient are the same person. Alcoholics learn not to talk about it, and hide in secrets and lies. Peter has been sober for thirty years. He described alcohol as "the gateway drug." Dan Caplis is a handsome young trial attorney who may run for the US Senate seat now held by Michael Bennet. Caplis is very articulate, smooth as silk, an enthusiastic supporter of Marco Rubio. He is an outspoken opponent of Colorado's recreational marijuana legalization. Boyles, the alcoholic and drug addict, is a supporter of the Colorado law, and says that Caplis will be defeated if he runs, because Boyles believes the majority of Colorado voters favor the law.

Boyles is a close friend of former Congressman Tom Tancredo, whom Hewitt believes is killing the Republican party in Colorado.

Kissing up to The Donald

Hugh Hewitt modestly says he's "the best on radio." He interviews Donald Trump, this time avoiding the gotcha questions. In fact, Hewitt kisses up to Trump, calling him "the best interview in America." So, who won the Hewitt/Trump battle that has been going on for a couple of weeks? Trump!

Best on radio? Are you forgetting Rush Limbaugh, Mr. Hewitt? You don't hold a candle to Rush Limbaugh.

I like Trump's comments about the value of being unpredictable. Ditto re: global warming.

Recently Hugh Hewitt interviewed Jeb Bush. Hugh asked Jeb

...where do you see the source of the radicalism, the Islamist violence? What’s the root source? We heard Marie Harf say it’s joblessness, in part. What does Jeb Bush think?

JB: I just cannot believe that a spokesman for our government would say that. It is deeply disturbing to me that this is the language that’s used in the Obama administration, that it’s an isolated act if it was in Paris, or that joblessness creates despair that creates this radical behavior, that it’s a law enforcement incident and all these things. It really makes it harder to garner the necessary support in our own country and around the world for what this is. This is radical Islam. And these are barbarians. And they want to destroy Western civilization. I don’t think that’s a gross exaggeration, and that’s what, if you believe, if you start with that premise, you have a completely different strategy.

Hewitt does not ask any questions about Jeb's unpopularity with conservative Republicans. Perhaps that is because Hewitt, himself, is out of touch with conservatives!
