Are you cool? Or are you mean?

Did you know Greg Gutfeld has written a book entitled, The Joy of Hate: How to Triumph over Whiners in the Age of Phony Outrage.

Are you obsessed with being cool? With being liked by teenagers? Conservatives just aren't very cool. We like to compete, build, own. The Left is obsessed with identity. They have become the person who is trying to sap the fun out of your life. Greg wants to reverse that trend. Basic common sense is now considered outmoded. Calling somebody a compassionate conservative is redundant, like calling somebody a naive liberal. Tolerance only works when you are talking to someone with whom you disagree. To the tolerant, everything you do is mean. You cannot call terrorism terrorism. Call it workplace violence. Achievement is mean.

A conservative with a sense of humor

Did you know Greg Gutfeld wrote a book a couple of years ago entitled, The Joy of Hate: How to Triumph Over Whiners in the Age of Phony Outrage. In this video, he speaks at the Reagan library in California. He says he had a lot in common with President Reagan. Reagan was the governor of California, and Greg was a citizen of California. Reagan was once a Democrat, and Greg once bought a counterfeit watch in Times Square.

Questions from the audience indicated that Greg is popular because he is a conservative with a sense of humor.

Greg notices how many leftists cover their car with bumper stickers because they want you to know how they feel all the time.

Conservatives, Greg says, believe in competition, while leftists believe in self esteem. Where are the highest incidence of people with high self esteem? Prisons! Criminals believe they can commit crimes because they deserve it! "I don't have to work for it. I take it!"

America has replaced exceptionalism with tolerance. Greg was hopeful that we would learn how to communicate the value of free markets, free minds, individual freedom and hard work. Presciently, Greg tells the audience "We have two years to find someone to run for president who is funny and interesting."

Greg Gutfeld spoke at the Reagan library about his book, How to be Right: The Art of Being Persuasively Correct. He says that the Left is really good at selling deadly ideas, while the Right is really bad at selling great ideas. He advises us to step away from being angry, shrill, emotional in our arguments with the other side. We need more humor. We need to be prepared. The Right has had a long period of success emphasizing individual opportunities and accomplishment. The Left has had opposite results with its emphasis on socialism.
