Andrew Klavan believes Bill O'Reilly owes his faithful followers more than just saying I paid women off to protect my children from bad publicity. He wants O'Reilly to release women from NonDisclosure Agreements.
That won't happen.
This blog is looking for wisdom, to have and to share. It is also looking for other rare character traits like good humor, courage, and honor. It is not an easy road, because all of us fall short. But God is love, forgiveness and grace. Those who believe in Him and repent of their sins have the promise of His Holy Spirit to guide us and show us the Way.

New York Times: Don't forget our enemies at Fox News!
Emily Steel and Michael S. Schmidt "report" at the New York Times about the Times' enemy, Fox News. The "report" compares the Harvey Weinstein payouts to the Bill O'Reilly payouts.
...Publicly known harassment settlements involving Mr. O’Reilly have totaled about $45 million... The Times reported this month that Mr. Weinstein had reached at least eight settlements with women, most of whom received between $80,000 to $150,000.Got that? Obama's federal prosecuters were "investigating the network!"
...After a few days of negotiation, Mr. O’Reilly and Ms. Wiehl reached a deal, according to a copy of the term sheet for the agreement that was sent anonymously to The Times and confirmed by the people briefed on the settlement. Dated Jan. 7, it called for Ms. Wiehl to be paid over a period of time to ensure her silence. In return, she agreed not to sue Mr. O’Reilly, Fox News or 21st Century Fox. And all photos, text messages and other communications between the two would be destroyed.
...In response to questions about why he sent sexually explicit material to Ms. Wiehl, Mr. O’Reilly said that during his time at the network, he had been sent threatening messages almost every day, including some that had obscene material. To deal with this problem, Mr. O’Reilly said, he set up a system in which the material would be forwarded to his lawyers so they could evaluate whether he needed to take any legal action. Mr. O’Reilly said Ms. Wiehl was among those lawyers.
...On April 13, Mr. Zweifach, the company’s general counsel, notified the Murdochs about a new document request from federal prosecutors investigating the network.
A day after the meeting with regulators, while Mr. O’Reilly was on vacation in Italy, he was dismissed. He left the network with a $25 million payout.More here.
...In recent weeks Mr. O’Reilly has made several public appearances to promote a new book. He said on the “Today’’ show that he never sent a lewd text or email to a Fox News employee, that his conscience is clear and that “a political and financial hit job” brought him down.
“This is horrible, it’s horrible what I went through, horrible what my family went through,” Mr. O’Reilly said in a raised voice at the end of the interview with The Times. “This is crap, and you know it.”

Tom Brady and Bill O'Reilly in the news
Rush Limbaugh jumps into two controversial items in the news today. The first is the O'Reilly firing by Murdoch's sons, who are now running Fox News. Rush first pointed to the organized attempt to boycott O'Reilly's advertisers. Rush notes that these boycotts of advertisers are always against right-of-center media. Always. And they usually start at The New York Times, as this one did. Fox News, with O'Reilly as their anchor has been beating its competition in ratings since Fox debuted in 1997, according to Rush. The Left cannot win in head-to-head competition, either in t.v. or talk radio. The Left's Standard Operating Procedure is to destroy the opposition because they cannot compete head-to-head in the arena of ideas. He explained that they do this with "bots," scaring advertisers into thinking there are gigantic numbers of people opposing the center-right guy involved.
Rush also noted that the woman involved in the complaint against O'Reilly is now dating Anthony Weiner!
The other story was about Tom Brady's last-minute decision not to come to the White House yesterday to celebrate the Patriots Super Bowl victory. Rush noted that Brady's supermodel wife Giselle had tweeted some support for Leftist causes yesterday.
That was what I heard in listening to 21 minutes of the Rush Limbaugh show today.

O'Reilly's out-of-court settlements
Did you know that Bill O'Reilly has settled out of court five separate lawsuits? One was an accusation of verbal abuse, and four were alleging sexual harassment. What is my source? Well, he said blushingly, it is CNN! No fake news from that outfit!
Addendum: The New York Times, who I am sure also really, really would also like to embarrass O'Reilly, has a lengthy piece here on the allegations.

The Tantaros allegations against Bill O'Reilly
At The Daily Mail Chris Spargo has more on Andrea Tantaros' allegations against Bill O'Reilly.
Bill O'Reilly has been accused of making unwanted sexual advances towards a former Fox News host.
In court papers filed in the Supreme Court of the State of New York on Monday, Andrea Tanatros claims that O'Reilly started sexually harassing her in February of this year.
Tantaros, 37, alleges that O'Reilly told her on multiple occasions he could 'see [her] as a wild girl' and that she had a 'wild side.'
O'Reilly also invited Tantaros to stay at his Long island home, telling her it was 'very private' she claims in the lawsuit.
When she told executives at the network about the harassment she claims they responded by no longer having her appear on O'Reilly's program but took no other action - despite O'Reilly being accused of harassment by a former employee a decade before.
O'Reilly is not named as a defendant in Tantaros' lawsuit.

Drifting egos
Victor Davis Hanson writes at National Review about Bill O'Reilly losing his cool with George Will. Hanson compared O'Reilly with Donald Trump:
As with Donald Trump, audiences never quite know where the ego of O’Reilly will drift, much less what he will say or do. Perhaps that’s why they tune in to watch the blood sport. There’s a similar phenomenon behind Trump’s soaring poll numbers and apparent exemption from criticism over what and how he speaks.Read more here.
