This blog is looking for wisdom, to have and to share. It is also looking for other rare character traits like good humor, courage, and honor. It is not an easy road, because all of us fall short. But God is love, forgiveness and grace. Those who believe in Him and repent of their sins have the promise of His Holy Spirit to guide us and show us the Way.

McCain Has No Time to Meet With Billy Graham
Can you believe it? Go here to read the letter McCain's scheduler sent to the person trying to arrange the meeting.
McCain met with Pastor Hagee, and got smeared by the press for remarks of Hagee taken out of context. If he met with Graham, he would be compared to Nixon (wink wink) by the press.
McCain is old fashioned Episcopalian...only goes to the Baptist church because of his wife. His religion might not be rigid, but he led a prayer group when such an action might have cost him his life.
And later, he helped the US reconcile with the Vietnamese people...something I probably couldn't do to a country that tortured me.
If the prolife evangelicals reject McCain because he rejects their rigid vocabulary and "leaders" then woe for the country when Obama, who backs post birth abortion, gets in...
Boinky makes a good point but I still don't believe it's a good idea not to meet with Graham. Many people are going to take that as a rejection and it's going to make them very angry.

This should be no surprise to anyone. McCain has never favored the religious right; I don't expect him to do so now.
This will hurt him with the people he needs to reach.
