"Deafening Silence"

I wonder what effect the cowards who fled to Canada during the Viet Nam war have had on the loss of free speech in that country. We have all heard of the ridiculous case against Mark Steyn, but there are others. David Warren chronicles them here in a post entitled "Deafening Silence."

I hope I always remain shocked and concerned over stuff like this. It all started so innocently: why can't we be friends? let's not be "mean" to one another? And now the side that never tires (Satan) is becoming bolder by the minute. I used to think it was crazy what Mark Steyn said about America Alone, now I'm worried, he's right.

They probably had a huge effect. I've been following what's going on in Canada through the blogs of conservative Canadian Bloggers who I visit as often as possible. We are nearly in the same boat. Our freedom of speech is being corroded every day through political correctness and it's only going to get worse if we don't fight it with everything we've got!
