In the Ace of Spades blog, CoBlogger CBD reminds us that it was 30 years ago that the man in China stood in front of the tanks in Tiananmen Square. Commenter Tom Servo writes,

I have seen previous commentary about how no one knows for sure what happened to that man who bravely stood in front of that tank - his name was never known. But we DO know what happened to the first tank crew in that line, the one that stopped for him - they were all executed within 48 hours. And every member of the People's Army was told that was going to be the consequence of any further such disloyalty to orders.
