Remember when Denver had Stapleton Airport? That has been turned into a residential and commercial area. It has a large WalMart Supercenter that has reported losing 1.5 million dollars from theft in the past year. The store has filed 283 cases with the police in the last year. By the time police arrive at the store, there may be as many as six cases reported.
Police even tried parking their cars in front of the store's entrance all day long every day. That only resulted in vandalism to the police cars.
Sadie Gurman writes about some of the tricks used by the criminals. WalMart stores nationwide lose over #3 billion each year to theft.
