It's something that's taken

Ol Remus tells us the central truth about political power:
It isn't something that's given, it's something that's taken. The socialist-progressives have always known that. They didn't earn power over the courts and schools for instance, they took it. Affirmative action and other judicial activism, confiscatory taxes, bank bailouts, draconian gun laws, free everything for illegals, career welfare and all the rest came about by simply finding a way. Ways like deceit and pandering, election rigging, classroom indoctrination, politicized courts, allying with the treacherous and traitorous, unions and paid mobs to "take it to the streets"—when a way was needed, a way was found.
