What to do with negative emotions

Negative emotions. We all have them. What good does it do to dwell on past experiences that bring up negative emotions? No good!

The trick is to recognize as soon as possible when that is happening, and tell our brains: "ENOUGH!" Instead, we need to consciously make time for peaceful living in the here and now, not in yesterday's disappointments.

I don't know how soldiers do their jobs - or presidential candidates - or anyone who is subject to constant stress. How do they stay healthy?

Sure, there is no shortage of shysters offering panaceas or quick fixes. The cigarette companies are at the top of that list. Use our products, they say, and you'll get stress release now (and health problems later). I'll never forget when the CEOs of the four major tobacco companies testified before a Congressional committee that they were not aware that nicotine is addictive. If that is not evil, I do not know what is!

As in so many aspects of our lives, the solutions lie within ourselves: taking responsibility to solve our own problems. Let the negative emotion have its 90 seconds in our bloodstrem, then, OUT OF HERE!

Do you believe in God's promise of eternal life to those who believe in Him? If so, then we have been constructed by Him to know and experience eternal joy, peace, and bliss. Yes, we already have that construction! Spend time in that part of yourself. You will be glad you did!

I've been working on re-finding my connection to God. So many things stand in the way...and yet I find when I do find Him first, there is nothing in my way.
