Taking allegations as fact

I have been working less hours lately, a fact that thankfully will not continue much beyond next week. I have had the chance to listen to more talk shows than usual and read more blogs and other news sources. One of the things I have noticed is that conservatives like Glenn Beck seem to pronounce as fact allegations that are being promoted in blogs, when there is no proof that the allegations are true. They take the allegation, then weave it in with other "facts," some of which may also be unproven allegations, and make a big deal out of it. Rush comes close to doing this, too, but Beck is worse. The reason I know this is that I have read the sources of the allegations, then, realizing they are just allegations, moved on to the next blog, without posting the information here.

For instance, British reporters are saying in The Independent that the White House had information about the attacks on the embassies 48 hours before the attacks took place. They give absolutely no proof or specific sources of these allegations. The allegations may or may not turn out to be true, but let's not repeat them until we see proof, or we are no better than the left, which did that to George W. Bush all the time.

You're absolutely right...and it's why I stopped listening to talk radio.
