Personally, I'm just tired of the shades-of-blue motif that is so common in posters and movies lately. It makes everybody look like Emperor Palpatine.

I did not know who the Emperor Palpatine was, so I Googled it. I have refused to see any of the Star Wars movies. When they first came out, I was living in Durango, a beautiful spot popular with tourists. The local theater only had Star Wars that summer, catering only to the tourists and not giving locals any variety. See how stubborn I am?

Never went to the drive-in. I lived there from 1973-1990. I actually opened a candy store underneath the theater! I had three retail businesses there. One was a touristy shop next to the train depot, and the third was a 12,600 square foot little-bit-of- everything store.
Underneath the theater? Maybe there was another theater I didn't know about. I just remember the one at the mall.

Lemme do my math. Youngest son was born in '97 shortly before we left. So, we lived there from '93 to '97.
I know the area around the train depot there. And, I think I might know your big warehouse building. Was it just south of town on the left heading north past the old T-Bone's Restaurant (which was closed when we lived there)?

When I lived there, there was no theater at the mall! There was one at the south end of Main Street by the train depot, and there was one on 8th street just west of Main. My stores were all on Main Street in downtown Durango. The big store was at 8th and Main. The candy store was under the theater on 8th. Memories! Wow, what a small world. If I'd a known you was comin, I wouldn't have left!

Good memories there for sure! Beautiful place. Great people. We actually lived out in the Bayfield/Ignacio area amongst ranchers mostly...but a lot of foreigners like ourselves, too. The locals were more than friendly to us "strangers" that came and went.

Short story...after we moved back to Louisiana, my #2 son started at the Middle School that I had attended long ago (it was Junior High back then). He came home from school the first day and said, "Dad, you'll never believe this. There is a kid in my first period class that I went to Bayfield Middle School with."
I did not remember the kid, and didn't know his parents while we lived there.
Really...a thousand miles away, and they land in the same school. Small world.
No and I don't much care.
