This blog is looking for wisdom, to have and to share. It is also looking for other rare character traits like good humor, courage, and honor. It is not an easy road, because all of us fall short. But God is love, forgiveness and grace. Those who believe in Him and repent of their sins have the promise of His Holy Spirit to guide us and show us the Way.

The Language of a Twenty-first Century Child
Sara said to me today, "I don't care what you say!" For that she earned one swat on the seat of her pants. She cried, and said, "Mommy." I informed her that if she said that to Mommy, Mommy would also spank her. Sara replied, "No she wouldn't. She doesn't know the password!"
Oh, and by the way, if you misbehave in the supermarket, you have to ride in the cart like a two-year-old, even if you are a four-year-old.

Nothing wrong with giving a well deserved, reasonably delivered spanking to a child.
I love how she's smiling, even after the spanking and being put in the cart. Clearly your abusive methods aren't doing as much damage as some would claim... ;)
shoprat and daddio,
When parents ignore disrespectful behavior, they are only asking for much worse disrespect down the road.
The smile says it all. "I was disciplined. Daddy and Mommy love me."
Ha ha ha... that cracks me up! Our boys have done the same thing from time to time, asked for the other parent during a time of discipline only to find the same ending would be dished out :-).

Good! It has to be that way!
cynthia,
Absolutely correct!
