He's running.

Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels says he plans to sign a bill disallowing Medicaid funds to pay for abortions. In order to resume receiving government funds, all an organization needs to do is to stop using federal funds to pay for abortions, or "separate those operations that perform abortions."

On a related note, the authors of the book Freakanomics found that the main reason we saw crime drop so significantly the last ten years was the easy availability of abortions to low income women.

Care to elaborate on the connection between abortion and the falling crime rate. I fail to see how they could be related.

Ryan,
I am delighted to have you as a reader and commenter and friend.

Where are crime rates the highest? The inner cities. Where is poverty the highest? The inner cities. If you have a means for low income pregnant women to avoid giving birth, you lower the numbers of people who might be committing crimes after being born to a single mom and growing up not knowing a father.

Obviously, I would much prefer that they choose abstinence, especially if I were one of the babies being killed.

Shouldn't we be concentrating on how to make life so great in the inner city that they naturally honor and respect life? Wouldn't hacking at the roots so to speak make more sense?
