Trisomy 18

Rick Santorum and his wife chose not to abort their baby when she was diagnosed with trisomy 18, a birth defect that kills 90 percent of babies born with it before they reach their first birthday. Because of their congenital heart diseases, their lungs fill up and they get pneumonia and infections. Rick has chosen to be with his daughter at the hospital, where she is being treated for pneumonia, instead of campaigning in his home state of Pennsylvania. Polls show that many Pennsylvanians are sympathetic and supportive, so Romney wisely has pulled his notorious attack ads that have worked so well for him in so many states. Santorum is scheduled to return to the campaign trail today, so the attack ads will return, also.
