Ace of Spades headline this morning: Emails Reveal that National School Board Association Colluded With White House To Draft That Letter Demanding the DOJ Treat Concerned Parents as "Domestic Terrorists"
Ace credits Chuck Ross with the investigative journalism.
This was all a set-up. It was all fugazi. The White House was already primed to order the DOJ to attack concerned parents -- but they didn't want to make it look wholly political.
So they put the NSBA into writing a tearful letter for them, filled with ominous tales of parents making "threats," to justify what they were going to do anyway.
Merrick Garland testified -- or testilied, really-- in Congress yesterday.
He testilied that he didn't know anything about any of the topics Republicans wanted to talk about.
When asked if he was aware of the bathroom sexual assault of the daughter of one of the men the NSBA was accusing of "terrorism," Merrick Garland claimed he'd heard nothing about it.
Remember, the National School Board Association specifically named Scott Smith -- the father of the sexually-violated girl -- in its list of "incidents" which they claim justified treating concerned parents as "domestic terrorists."
And Merrick Garland, vouched for by National Review's serial voucher Andy McCarthy, claims he just hasn't heard anything about this case.
When asked if he was aware that a leftwing environmental group had stated their own "insurrection" by battering their way into a federal building two weeks ago, Garland similarly claimed he'd never heard the story.
This is Strategic Ignorance.
This is testilying.
Again, I urge Congress to create an Idiot's Corner where they can send someone to read the law or read recent news when they claim to not know things they don't wish to comment on.
Then call them back to the witness chair after their purported ignorance of very basic knowledge has been cured.
