I have been both amused and angered by the constant harping of the media and fashion police on Melania Trump’s wardrobe choices. These same people were fine with Michelle Obama’s gosh-awful ruffled skirt that made her look like a birthday cake and her Halloween-ish black widow dress.
The most recent attack on Mrs. Trump was for wearing high heels as she got on the plane to head to Texas. They then attacked again when she got off the plane wearing white tennis shoes after arriving in Texas. Well, what did they expect her to have on? Muck boots???
My husband and I did wear muck boots every time we went outdoors for the entire weekend. We live in the Texas Hill Country and got the outer edge of Hurricane Harvey’s rain all day Saturday AND Sunday. Obviously, nothing to compare to the devastated areas, but we did have standing water and squishy mud, so muck boots were the footwear choice for the weather conditions.
I am quite sure muck boots and hip-waders have been the “shoe” of choice for numerous folks across the Texas storm area since Harvey decided to come ashore. I am just as sure that Melania Trump does not likely own a pair of either muck boots or hip-waders. And, it really would not matter if she did ‘cause the Trump haters would then bash her for not being elegantly attired as befits the First Lady.
How much better it would be if the haters had just given her a thumbs up for accompanying her husband on his visit to Texas in our time of trouble. Oh, wait. My bad! They are just as busy bashing President Trump. His crime? Praising and thanking those who are helping people through this dangerous time of disaster.
Ummm . . . seems to me they bashed him approximately a year ago when his crime was delivering a truckload of supplies for those in storm-ravaged Louisiana. I remember in particular the media and liberals complained about him handing out toys along with more serious necessities. Well, you know what? A toy in the hands of a child who has lost everything is important. Just ask a mother or father whose child has nothing.
Obviously, POTUS and FLOTUS Trump will never be able to please the Liberals and the leftist media. But, you know what? I like them. A lot of folks I know like them. President Trump shows again and again that he cares about America and Americans. Mrs. Trump has repeatedly shown she is gracious, kind, and pro-America. After eight years of the American-hating Obamas, I really don’t care what shoes Melania wears to a hurricane and I am just happy that The Donald is out amongst the people in need rather than off on a golf course!
