Apparently the Tibetan monks do not want to lose freedom

A Tibetan exile runs after setting himself on fire during a protest against the upcoming visit of Chinese President Hu Jintao to India in New Delhi, on March 26, 2012. At least 16 Tibetans are believed to have died after setting themselves on fire in protest since March, most of them Buddhist monks in Tibetan parts of Sichuan and Gansu provinces.(Reuters/Stringer) Picture and story come from The Atlantic:

basically if they loose their freedom and their land they will have to live by china's rule, pay taxes ect but as they sustain themselves they do not need or have any real money just goods for trade they are very peaceful in nature and you will hear anyone who see's them setting themselves on fire mostly do not make a sound and die quietly and dedicated to the cause, and while it isnt something they encourage the loss of a few for the needs of the many is the mentality
