Aligned Planets

Tonight we went outside at about 9 p.m., and we noticed that there were five planets in a straight line. Our eyes were first attracted to the bright crescent moon. Then, we noticed there was a bright planet (Venus?) just to the north of the moon. There were two more planets just above the moon to the south, and two more to the southeast, all connected in a straight line. Cool!

Here in Southern California, with all the smog, we are happy to catch a glimpse of the moon

Wow. I wish I could remember that when it is after 8pm... sooo tired after getting the kids to bed.

Dang...we're finally getting some good rain, so I won't be able to see this anytime soon. That's okay, I'll take the rain.

I'd love to send Mrs. Who some of our rain. It's turning into Florida here. I can't remember ever having this much rain in June. Gainsville has been flooded out, and it's within a hundred miles of us. I don't think we'll be able to see the stars tonight either. :(

BB,
I have no idea. We'll take some of that rain here, too. A week of 90 degree temperatures dries things up quickly.
