It has been a bit of a frenzied month, but as it is coming towards the end and we are about to start off the month of April with Easter Sunday, I cannot help but feel much more blessed than distressed or even just stressed. While life may not be easy, I do know that it can be eternal. ‘Cause our Lord and Savior made atonement for all our sins, thus giving each of us the opportunity to return to live forever with our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ.
No matter the ups-n-downs of day to day living, there is an eternal reward awaiting us, if we simply do our part. While it does not take away our burdens, the load sure does seem lighter knowing that the Lord has done His part to help us make it through the days until we can be with Him in celestial joy.
So, today and all this week, as we celebrate Palm Sunday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday, I want to say “Thank You, Jesus!” As a Latter-Day Saint (AKA: Mormon) I am also looking forward to our April sessions of General Conference on the last day of March and the first day of April. A chance to hear the voice of our prophet and gather with the Saints all across the world via technology. Truly a blessed week is ahead of us.
Not only do I have a spiritual feast coming this week, but there is another feast for my soul as I look out and see springtime making her way across our lil bit of heaven here on earth in the Texas Hill Country. How can one not feel peace when seeing the bright shades of spring’s palette of greens that are beginning to be dotted with various bright colors brought in by flowers, birds, and butterflies.
Take some time this week to let your heart and eyes drink in the beauty of the world around us. Take a few minutes each day to find something to be happy about. Then, echo my cry of “Thank You, Jesus!” ‘Cause He loves us and we should let Him know we love Him, too. Giving thanks is a great way to say “I love you!”
