James Clapper has now taken the dishonesty, obfuscation, and deception he learned in the spy trade and put them to good use by becoming a commentator on CNN!
Monday is Memorial Day, the day when we remember all the soldiers who gave their lives so football players could disrespect the flag.
President Trump has canceled his summit with Kim Jong-un, just as Andrew's show went on the air. He is changing our assumptions. The right lets the culture slip away. The culture establishes our moral assumptions. In every movie a woman who devotes herself to homemaking is unhappy and dissatiisfied. Religious people are forgiving, open-minded and kind, but are portrayed in movies as small-minded people who hate gays or something like that. America is the bad guy instead of the good guy. Did you hear Spike Lee condemning America at the film festival in Europe recently? Republicans accepted the assumptions of the Left. George H.W. Bush wanted a kinder and gentler America. He was talking about Reagan, and accepting the Left's idea that Reagan was this harsh, warmongering bad guy. George W. Bush did it again with "Compassionate Conservatism." What can be more compassionate than preserving our freedoms and constitution? When Republicans accept the Left's assumptions, the ball naturally moves down field to the Left.
Trump is moving those assumptions back to where they belong. He spoke out against the National Anthem protests. Now the NFL is requiring players to stand or stay in the locker room during the national anthem. Because of the flag and what it stands for, they have a right to protest. But to the press, America is a bad place. I love this clip of Trump saying, "Americans are very smart. They are the ones who made the NFL make changes. When was the last time you heard a resident of the White House talk about how smart are the American people? I also agree with Andrew that this will probably just extend the controversy over the national anthem. But Donald Trump said what most Americans believe: it is not okay to disrespect the flag!
Trump explains about Spygate: What we're doing is cleaning everything up! He is moving the assumption that Obama was a worthwhile president doing the right thing. Obama was infiltrating Trump's campaign. The other big assumption Trump has moved is the assumption that the press is a voice of truth against power.
