Cognitive Dissonance
On the one hand, President Obama says we cannot sustain long-term deficit spending, and we cannot just keep on borrowing from China. On the other hand, he pushes forward with all of his spending plans.
Restating your opponent's position as if you agreed with it -- showing that you are "open-minded" -- then ignoring it and doing what you wanted to do anyway. It's a nice rhetorical technique. If a Republican used it, the late night Jokers would be all over it.

I have found most liberals this way. For some reason they seem to think there's a neverending supply of money.
