This blog is looking for wisdom, to have and to share. It is also looking for other rare character traits like good humor, courage, and honor. It is not an easy road, because all of us fall short. But God is love, forgiveness and grace. Those who believe in Him and repent of their sins have the promise of His Holy Spirit to guide us and show us the Way.

Tell the whole story, please.
Both of my teens who still live at home are working on science projects this week. 16-year-old Erik is doing experiments to see which blends of gasoline will make his dirt bike run longest. He is finding that gasoline with no additives works best. The teacher, of course, is stressing E85, the corn alcohol blend. I asked Erik if the teacher informed the class of the disastrous effects worldwide of farmers raising corn for ethanol, causing food scarcities and destruction of rain forests. No, the teacher had not said one word about that.

Love the photo and the text on this!
Hi Bob!
Your son knows more than his teacher on this subject, because he actually did the experiment.
And you're right about the food shortages and increased prices this has cost mostly poor folks.
Not to mention it takes more energy to produce a gallon of ethanol than it does to produce gasoline, and gasoline, as your son learned, is much more efficient.
At times like these, I wonder to myself how will future generations regard this one...as stupidly absurd as I increasingly feel we are???
