Media Sexism

I watched a little bit of television news last night. They were showing clips of Obama giving speeches in various locales. I was struck by the Obama wardrobe: very attractive neckties and custom-made suits. Then I thought about how much of a fuss the media has made over Sarah Palin's wardrobe expenditures, but there has not been a word about the wardrobe expenditures of the three senators. Is this lopsided coverage because she is a woman, and they are all men? I believe the term for that kind of bias is sexism.

Hmm, I've noticed his fancy ties and fabulous custom suits as well.Sexism, maybe, liberal bias, definitely.

Laura Ingraham made an interesting comment about how the liberal feminists could at least admire her accomplishments as a woman and mother - she is the role model of a working mother who "has it all", is she not?, even if they disagree with her politics. The hatred from the left this time around is astonishing.

It's not sexism. It's that they don't want to be called racist for questioning a black man's wardrobe.

I did hear once that Obama had just bought 5 more suits at $1500 each. But this was just once and it was lost in the comments about Sarah's clothes. The attacks on her because she is a woman are horrible. Sexism to the next degree.

I think shoprat nailed it. It's the fear of being considered racist.
