Big tobacco covering for big pharma? That doesn't make sense to me!

This article claims that big tobacco is covering for big pharma, blaming cigarettes for causing blood clots, heart attacks and strokes.
That doesn't make sense to me. Big tobacco has always lied about the dangers of their products, but they lied in a way that tried to convince smokers that cigarettes were not dangerous to their health.

How to get to a place where your blood sugar is stable and healthy!

Dr. Heather Moday lists some steps we can all take to control our blood sugar.
1. Cut back on obvious sugars.
This means candy, soda, cake and those seasonal flavored lattes we all love. These foods and drinks don’t provide any nutritional value, and they contain massive amounts of sugar.
Instead, opt for dark chocolate, berries or another low-sugar treat. I’m not saying you have to take out all sugary foods forever. The occasional dessert is fine! But at the beginning, it’s important to get to a place where your blood sugar is stable and healthy.
2. Read the labels. Now it’s time to check the amount of added sugar in every item in your pantry — and I mean everything, even things advertised as “low in sugar” or “healthy.”
3. Eat more fiber. If sugar is poison, then fiber is the antidote. Fiber not only keeps your digestion regular, it also helps slow the absorption of sugar into your bloodstream, which protects you from sugar spikes.
Some of my favorite high-fiber foods are black beans and lentils, steel-cut oats, avocados, buckwheat, pears, raspberries, barley and flaxseeds.
4. Chose nutrients over calories. You don’t need to go low-carb, just choose the “right” carbs. In fact, eating carbs in the form of vegetables, beans, whole fruits, and nuts and seeds — all mineral- and vitamin-rich foods — is a great way to keep those hunger pangs at bay.

Who owns American agriculture?

Faye Higbee reports,
“The current trend in the U.S. is leading us toward the creation of a Chinese-owned agricultural land monopoly,” Representative Dan Newhouse (R-WA) warned in a recent House Appropriations hearing.
According to American Military News, Newhouse raised his concerns about Chinese land ownership as he proposed an amendment in a new agricultural appropriations bill, H.R. 4356. The amendment would block any new agricultural purchases by companies wholly or partly controlled by the Chinese government. Furthermore, it would ban existing Chinese-owned farms in the U.S. from drawing from federal agricultural support programs.

Facts about the PCR "test"

Rhoda Wilson reports,
Since the beginning of the pandemic, experts have warned that the PCR test is not a valid diagnostic tool and produces far too many false positives, as it can pick up on “dead,” nonreplicating viral debris. The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”) now admits the PCR test cannot identify active infection or measure contagiousness.
A PCR test cannot distinguish between “live” viruses and inactive, non-infectious, viral particles. This is why it cannot be used as a diagnostic tool. As explained by Dr. Lee Merritt in her August 2020 Doctors for Disaster Preparedness lecture, media and public health officials appear to have purposefully conflated “cases” or positive tests with the actual illness in order to create the appearance of a pandemic.
Furthermore, a PCR test cannot confirm that SARS-CoV-2 is the causative agent for clinical symptoms as the test cannot rule out diseases caused by other bacterial or viral pathogens. The inventor of the PCR test, Kary Mullis, who won a Nobel Prize for his work, explained this as shown in the video below.

Tsunami advisories issued for Hawaii, Alaska, and the U.S. Pacific coast

Nick Perry reports,
An undersea volcano erupted in spectacular fashion Saturday near the Pacific nation of Tonga, sending tsunami waves crashing across the shore and people rushing to higher ground. Tsunami advisories were issued for Hawaii, Alaska and the U.S. Pacific coast.
On Tonga, home to about 105,000 people, video posted to social media showed large waves washing ashore in coastal areas, swirling around homes, a church and other buildings. Satellite images showed a huge eruption, with a plume of ash, steam and gas rising like a mushroom above the blue Pacific waters.

Some gamers angry at companies attempting to incorporate crypto-based assets in video games

dnyuz reports,
Crypto Enthusiasts Meet Their Match: Angry Gamers!
SAN FRANCISCO — For years, Christian Lantz has played S.T.A.L.K.E.R., a first-person shooter game set in a post-apocalyptic Ukraine that became a cult hit for its immersive role playing. So when the 18-year-old high schooler heard a sequel was coming this year, he knew he had to buy it.
That was until GSC Game World, the Ukrainian company behind the computer game, announced last month that the new S.T.A.L.K.E.R. would incorporate the crypto-based assets known as nonfungible tokens, or NFTs. In the new game, GSC said, players could buy and sell NFTs of items like clothing for their in-game characters. The company heralded the move as a “transformative step” toward the virtual world known as the metaverse.
Mr. Lantz was incensed. He joined thousands of fans on Twitter and Reddit who raged against NFTs in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.’s sequel. The game maker, they said, was simply looking to squeeze more money out of its players. The backlash was so intense that GSC quickly reversed itself and abandoned its NFT plan.

Covid 19 harm to the human brain

Chris Melore asks,
Could COVID-19 actually be doing more harm to the human brain than Alzheimer’s disease? A new study reveals older patients contracting COVID have more signs of brain damage than people who develop the neurodegenerative disease.

White House: Russia prepping pretext for Ukraine invasion

The Associated Press reports,
The U.S. intelligence community has taken note of a buildup on social media by Russian influencers justifying intervention by emphasizing deteriorating human rights in Ukraine, suggesting an increased militancy of Ukrainian leaders and blaming the West for escalating tensions.
The Russians, while maintaining they don’t plan to invade Ukraine, are demanding that the U.S. and NATO provide written guarantees that the alliance will not expand eastward. The U.S. has called such demands nonstarters but said that it’s willing to negotiate with Moscow about possible future deployments of offensive missiles in Ukraine and putting limits on U.S. and NATO military exercises in Eastern Europe.

The U.S. now has the highest rate of single-parent households in the world!

John Mac Ghillon writes,
according to a Pew Research Center study, rates of children living in single-parent households have never been higher. In fact, the U.S. now boasts the highest rate of children living in single-parent households in the world. As the study notes, “3% of children in China, 4% of children in Nigeria, and 5% of children in India live in single-parent households.” In the U.S., meanwhile, the rate is a staggering 23 percent. At least 80 percent of the country’s single-parent homes are headed by single mothers.
To compound matters, fewer young men are entering the labor force. Bloomberg’s Peter McCoy notes that to be out of the labor force means one does not have a job and is “not actively seeking one.” What are America’s young men doing instead? Playing video games. A paper published by the National Bureau of Economic Research argues that younger men, “ages 21 to 30, exhibited a larger decline in work hours over the last fifteen years than older men or women.” Since 2004, they continue, “time-use data show that younger men distinctly shifted their leisure to video gaming and other recreational computer activities. We propose a framework to answer whether improved leisure technology played a role in reducing younger men’s labor supply.” Maybe this is why China, the country orchestrating the “attack” on sissy men, is simultaneously cracking down on video games.
But work has never been inherently fun or fulfilling for most men throughout history. The obligation to shoulder the yoke was usually offset by a certain countervailing promise of respect for masculine virtues and a pride of place for the father in society. The determination that masculine fathers and sons are an obstacle to the good society has come at a dizzying, deepening cost—one hardly limited to those with x and y chromosomes. Until we reestablish cultural institutions that reverse this damage, it will be no wonder that the sissy is ascendent over Sisyphus.

Support for authoritarianism

Stacey Lennox reports,
A new Rasmussen Reports poll in partnership with the Heartland Institute shows that Democrats are not becoming skeptical of the federal government’s response to COVID. Recently, Dr. Anthony Fauci said that just about everyone would eventually get omicron. CDC Director Rochelle Walensky told Americans the currently available vaccines cannot prevent omicron transmission or symptomatic illness from the virus. Still, the poll finds that most Democrat voters support vaccine mandates, and many want punitive measures against those who haven’t gotten the COVID-19 vaccine.

The number of police officers killed in 2021 is the highest ever!

Karl Salzmann reports,
Police fatalities in the line of duty, including the number of officers killed by gunfire, spiked in 2021, a National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund report found.
Police deaths last year rose to 458, a 55 percent increase from the year before. Eighty-four police officers in 2021 died from "felonious assaults," including 61 officers killed with firearms. The number of firearm deaths is up 36 percent from 2020.
Nineteen officers were killed in "ambush-style attacks," which the report calls a "significant increase" from only six attacks in 2020.

Recall, Remove and Replace Every Last Soros Prosecutor!

Senator Tom Cotton writes,
Last year, our nation experienced the largest increase in murder in American history and the largest number of drug overdose deaths ever recorded. This carnage continues today and is not distributed equally. Instead, it is concentrated in cities and localities where radical, left-wing, George Soros progressives have captured state and district attorney offices. These legal arsonists condemn our rule of law as “systemically racist” and have not simply abused prosecutorial discretion, they have embraced prosecutorial nullification. As a result, a contagion of crime has infected virtually every neighborhood under their charge.
Soros prosecutors refuse to enforce laws against shoplifting, drug trafficking, and entire categories of felonies and misdemeanors. In Chicago, Cook County State’s Attorney Kim Foxx allows theft under $1,000 to go unpunished. In Manhattan, District Attorney Cyrus Vance Jr. refuses to enforce laws against prostitution. In Baltimore, State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby has unilaterally declared the war on drugs “over” and is refusing to criminally charge drug users in the middle of the worst drug crisis in American history. For a time, Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascon even stopped enforcing laws against disturbing the peace, resisting arrest, and making criminal threats.
All of these cities have paid a terrible price for these insane policies. Last year, the number of homicides in Chicago rose by 56%, and more than 1,000 Cook County residents have been murdered in 2021. In New York City, murder increased 47% and shootings soared 97%. In 2020, the murder rate in Baltimore was higher than El Salvador’s or Guatemala’s — nations from which citizens often attempt to claim asylum purely based on gang violence and murder—and this year murder in Baltimore is on track to be even higher. Murder in Los Angeles rose 36% last year and is on track to rise another 17% this year.
Unfortunately, soft-on-crime policies have been, at times, a bipartisan problem. In 2018, Republicans passed the pro-criminal First Step Act. That deeply flawed legislation reduced sentences for crack dealers and granted early release to some child predators, carjackers, gang members, and bank robbers. Ironically, this jailbreak bill even provided early release for those who helped prisoners break out of jail.
The Republican Party must then join with independents and common-sense Democrats to wage an unrelenting war on crime. That war must begin with a campaign to recall, remove, and replace every last Soros prosecutor. Throw the bums out.

Doing all he can to divide us!

The rich and powerful thrived as the rest of us suffered in the year of lockdowns!

Glenn Reynolds writes,
According to the American Institute for Economic Research, lockdowns did more harm than good on multiple levels. Businesses died, mental-health problems abounded, people missed important “elective” procedures such as cancer screenings with long-term consequences, and many kids effectively missed out on a year of education.
But no politicians or government employees missed a paycheck. Consequences are for the little people.
So is it fair to call the overclass response to the pandemic a failure? Well, certainly not for the overclass, whose members are richer, more powerful and more secure in their positions than a year ago. For America? Well, that’s another story.

"It's certainly the question at the heart of the semi-cold war between the right and left in America today!"

William Sullivan writes,
Red and blue states have, in fact, diverged into patterns of life that have become increasingly antithetical in recent years, and antagonisms and rivalries are growing in intensity. Blue states did fleece the taxpayers of red states last year by demanding a federal bailout for their decision to keep their states irrationally closed during the pandemic and in order to keep their broken, and internally unsustainable, entitlement programs afloat. There is a high moral tone being expressed on abortion in red states, an institution that disregards the right to life among the unborn just as the institution of slavery disregarded the right to liberty among slaves. Extremists on both sides are inflaming passions. Effete coastal liberals and elitists in the media and academia view middle-class, red-state denizens as anachronistic God-worshippers who prioritize their families and communities before the needs of the national collective, and are thereby impediments on that Hegelian path of history toward their inevitable vision of “progress.”
Again, if the people of a state surmise that the federal government is pursuing a policy that compromises the liberty and prosperity of its citizens, does that state have to conform to what is perceived by the people of the state as an unconstitutional abuse of power, or can it express its autonomy and liberty without the prospect of being attacked by the federal government for having done so?
That is the central question that was at the heart of the Civil War. And we are fools to not consider that it’s the likeliest question that will be at the heart of the next one or to understand that it’s certainly the question at the heart of the semi-cold war between right and left in America today.

AI-enabled systems

Natasha Bajema writes,
HOLLYWOOD’S WORST-CASE scenario involving artificial intelligence (AI) is familiar as a blockbuster sci-fi film: Machines acquire humanlike intelligence, achieving sentience, and inevitably turn into evil overlords that attempt to destroy the human race. This narrative capitalizes on our innate fear of technology, a reflection of the profound change that often accompanies new technological developments.
In a terrifying scenario, the rise of deepfakes—fake images, video, audio, and text generated with advanced machine-learning tools—may someday lead national-security decision-makers to take real-world action based on false information, leading to a major crisis, or worse yet, a war.
When it comes to AI and national security, speed is both the point and the problem. Since AI-enabled systems confer greater speed benefits on its users, the first countries to develop military applications will gain a strategic advantage. But what design principles might be sacrificed in the process?
For example, national-security leaders may be tempted to delegate decisions of command and control, removing human oversight of machine-learning models that we don’t fully understand, in order to gain a speed advantage. In such a scenario, even an automated launch of missile-defense systems initiated without human authorization could produce unintended escalation and lead to nuclear war.
The power of data, once collected and analyzed, extends far beyond the functions of monitoring and surveillance to allow for predictive control. Today, AI-enabled systems predict what products we’ll purchase, what entertainment we’ll watch, and what links we’ll click. When these platforms know us far better than we know ourselves, we may not notice the slow creep that robs us of our free will and subjects us to the control of external forces.
1. When Fiction Defines Our Reality… Unnecessary tragedy may strike if we allow fiction to define our reality. But what choice is there when we can’t tell the difference between what is real and what is false in the digital world?
A Dangeoterous Race to the Bottom When it comes to AI and national security, speed is both the point and the problem. Since AI-enabled systems confer greater speed benefits on its users, the first countries to develop military applications will gain a strategic advantage. But what design principles might be sacrificed in the process?
Things could unravel from the tiniest flaws in the system and be exploited by hackers. Helen Toner, director of strategy at CSET, suggests a crisis could “start off as an innocuous single point of failure that makes all communications go dark, causing people to panic and economic activity to come to a standstill. A persistent lack of information, followed by other miscalculations, might lead a situation to spiral out of control.”
3. The End of Privacy and Free Will With every digital action, we produce new data—emails, texts, downloads, purchases, posts, selfies, and GPS locations. By allowing companies and governments to have unrestricted access to this data, we are handing over the tools of surveillance and control.
4. A Human Skinner Box The ability of children to delay immediate gratification, to wait for the second marshmallow, was once considered a major predictor of success in life. Soon even the second-marshmallow kids will succumb to the tantalizing conditioning of engagement-based algorithms.
5. The Tyranny of AI Design
Every day, we turn over more of our daily lives to AI-enabled machines. This is problematic since, as Horowitz observes, “we have yet to fully wrap our heads around the problem of bias in AI. Even with the best intentions, the design of AI-enabled systems, both the training data and the mathematical models, reflects the narrow experiences and interests of the biased people who program them. And we all have our biases.”
6. Fear of AI Robs Humanity of Its Benefits
Consider the benefits of improved communication and cross-cultural understanding made possible by seamlessly translating across any combination of human languages, or the use of AI-enabled systems to identify new treatments and cures for disease. Knee-jerk regulatory actions by governments to protect against AI’s worst-case scenarios could also backfire and produce their own unintended negative consequences, in which we become so scared of the power of this tremendous technology that we resist harnessing it for the actual good it can do in the world.

"America is fast mutating from a republic, in which individual liberty is paramount, into an oligarchy, in which conformity is increasingly demanded and enforced!"

Roger Kimball writes,
Notwithstanding all the hysterical rhetoric surrounding the events of January 6, 2021, two critical things stand out. The first is that what happened was much more hoax than insurrection. In fact, in my judgment, it wasn’t an insurrection at all.
An “insurrection,” as the dictionary will tell you, is a violent uprising against a government or other established authority. Unlike the violent riots that swept the country in the summer of 2020—riots that caused some $2 billion in property damage and claimed more than 20 lives—the January 6 protest at the Capitol building in Washington, D.C. lasted a few hours, caused minimal damage, and the only person directly killed was an unarmed female Trump supporter who was shot by a Capitol Police officer. It was, as Tucker Carlson said shortly after the event, a political protest that “got out of hand.”
Note that phrase “our democracy”: Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, and various talking heads have repeated it ad nauseam. But you do not need an advanced degree in hermeneutics to understand that what they mean by “our democracy” is their oligarchy. Similarly, when Pelosi talks about “the people’s house,” she doesn’t mean a house that welcomes riff-raff like you and me.
I just alluded to Ashli Babbitt, the unarmed supporter of Donald Trump who was shot and killed on January 6. Her fate brings me to the second critical thing to understand about the January 6 insurrection hoax. Namely, that it was not a stand-alone event.
On the contrary, what happened that afternoon, and what happened afterwards, is only intelligible when seen as a chapter in the long-running effort to discredit and, ultimately, to dispose of Donald Trump—as well as what Hillary Clinton might call the “deplorable” populist sentiment that brought Trump to power.
At least 74 million citizens voted for Donald Trump in 2020, which is at least 11 million more than voted for him in 2016. Many of those voters are profoundly disillusioned and increasingly angry about this entire story—the years-long Robert Mueller “investigation,” the two impeachments of President Trump, the cloud of unknowing that surrounds the 2020 election, and the many questions that have emerged not only from the January 6 protest at the Capitol, but even more from the government’s response to that protest.
The Sixth Amendment to the Constitution accords American citizens the right to a speedy trial. But most of the political prisoners of January 6—many of whom have been kept in solitary confinement—are still waiting to be brought to trial. And although the media was full of predictions that they would be found guilty of criminal sedition, none has.
The indisputable fact about January 6 is that although five people died at or near the Capitol on that day or soon thereafter, none of these deaths was brought about by the protesters. The shot fired by Capitol Police Officer Michael Byrd that hit Ashli Babbitt in the neck and killed her was the only shot fired at the Capitol that day. No guns were recovered from the Capitol on January 6. Zero.
The liberal commentator Glenn Greenwald further diminished the “armed insurrection” narrative in an important column last February titled “The False and Exaggerated Claims Still Being Spread About the Capitol Riot.” The title says it all. Kevin Greeson, Greenwald notes, was killed not by the protesters but died of a heart attack outside the Capitol. Benjamin Philips, the founder of a pro-Trump website called Trumparoo, died of a stroke that day. Rosanne Boyland, another Trump supporter, was reported by The New York Times to have been inadvertently “killed in a crush of fellow rioters during their attempt to fight through a police line.” But later video shows that, far from that, the police pushed protesters on top of Boyland and would not allow other protesters to pull her out.
Four of the five who died, then, were pro-Trump protesters. And the fifth? Well, that was Officer Sicknick—also a Trump supporter, as it turned out—who, contrary to the false report gone viral of The New York Times, went home, told his family he felt fine, but died a day later from, as The Washington Post eventually and grudgingly reported, “natural causes.” No fire extinguishers were involved in his demise.
Why is there some 14,000 hours of video footage of the event on January 6 that the government refuses to release? What are they afraid of letting the public see? More scenes of security guards actually opening doors and politely ushering in protesters? More pictures of FBI informants covertly salted among the crowd?
America is fast mutating from a republic, in which individual liberty is paramount, into an oligarchy, in which conformity is increasingly demanded and enforced.

Ann Coulter Calls Out Ghislaine Maxwell Juror As A 'Plant' Working to Set Her Free

Ann Coulter smells a "plant" among the jurors in the Ghislaine Maxwell trial. Chris Menahan reports,
Ann Coulter on Thursday called out Ghislaine Maxwell juror Scotty David as a "plant" working to set her free by running to the press to "announce he lied during jury selection and his lie influenced deliberations."
"One week after guilty verdicts are returned against Ghislaine Maxwell, a juror runs to the press to announce he lied during jury selection and his lie influenced deliberations," Coulter said. "Surely, NO ONE could imagine he was a plant."
Legal experts said that if David failed to disclose his past experiences before the jury deliberations, Maxwell could have grounds to claim a mistrial and have her convictions quashed.

If you say it was an insurrection, why are you not charging people with insurrection?

The other side of it!

Transparent hypocrisy!

Pedro Gonzales writes,
The signs are everywhere: A recent survey by Rasmussen Reports found that 47 percent of Americans now view the FBI unfavorably, including 26 percent who have a very unfavorable impression. Fewer voters trust the organization, and many believe the agency is acting as President Joe Biden's "personal Gestapo." Just 46 percent feel favorably about the FBI, down from 60 percent last May.
Indeed, the irony of the myth of January 6 is that it might succeed in accelerating the decline of the incumbent regime by virtue of its transparent hypocrisy. Because what we saw over the past two years is that whether people who riot and even damage the Capitol are terrorists depends on their politics. Hundreds if not thousands of Black Lives Matter rioters and looters across the country have had charges against them dropped, while some of the Americans caught up in the Capitol riot are being held as political prisoners. According to January 6 defendant Ronald Sandlin, one inmate "was severely beaten by correctional officers, [is now] blind in one eye, has a skull fracture and detached retina."

How did he become a conservative? Football and Christianity!

The absurdity of claiming Moynihan was racist for wanting to focus on improving the lives of black Americans led LBJ to pivot to the Great Society. The media influenced the process, making the government the big daddy to black families. If they get you to believe absurdities, they can get you to commit atrocities, like the January 6 solitary confinements imprisonments of people who may have committed trespassing offenses! Our best player is on the bench! Jesus Christ is the One who can bring black and white men together to win this game. Our only chance at survival is to find leaders who will wear their faith in Jesus on their sleeves!

DeSantis comes through again!

Ryan King reports,
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said his state will give about one million free at-home COVID-19 tests to elderly residents, starting with long-term care facilities and then "broader senior communities."

Home for Christmas!

Misanthropic Humanitarian brings us the story of
A miracle premature baby born the size of an iPhone spent Christmas at home after a “rollercoaster” year where his parents feared he may not survive.
Little Myles weighed just 1lb 8oz when he was born 14 weeks premature on June 19.
24-year-old mom Rebecca Grainger was rushed into hospital for an emergency Caesarian section after being diagnosed with pre-eclampsia at 26 weeks.
Myles was immediately placed on a ventilator as he was unable to breathe for himself and endured a 15-week battle for life.

Ukraine and Taiwan

K.T. focuses our attention on a Wall Street Journal article by from Seth Cropsey of the Hudson Institute on The Two-Headed Fight for Ukraine and Taiwan.
Although separated by geography, Ukraine and Taiwan occupy similar positions in the Russian and Chinese strategic experience and historical imagination. Capturing each is essential to all other strategic objectives. For Russia, taking Ukraine would secure its hold on the Black Sea and open other pressure points against vulnerable NATO members Romania and Bulgaria. For the Chinese Communist Party, seizing Taiwan would allow the country to break out of the First Island Chain and conduct offensive operations against Japan, the Philippines and even U.S. territories in the Central Pacific.

New information coming out about January 6 attacks

Ace of Spades writes this morning,
The media is pushing every January 6th story they can. It's a full-court press. Flood-the-zone treatment.
Newsweek: The Acting Attorney General of the DOJ Unilaterally Deployed Secret Commandos to the Capitol on January 6 with Shoot-to-Kill Orders
Supposedly, they were deployed to "protect Trump and Pence." Anyone believe that? Also note that the DOJ decided to do this themselves, without anyone asking them to. I believe that Barr had left by this time, leaving Jeffrey Rosen as Acting AG.

The nine worst things the media did in 2021

Becket Adams detais the nine worst things the media did in 2021.
1. The Washington Post’s Steele Dossier legacy
2. Goodbye, Chris Cuomo
3. The Rittenhouse trial
4. Red scare Republicans lawmakers opposed Saule Omarova’s nomination to supervise an estimated 1,200 U.S. financial institutions because she wants to nationalize the banking system. They opposed her because she wants, according to her own words and policy papers, a complete federal takeover of all wages, gas, and food prices. They opposed her because she believes a single, unelected government bureaucracy should control all capital and credit.
5. "How much does a gallon of milk cost?" Few things demonstrate the cultural gap between the average consumer and the corporate media class so clearly as the cost of groceries. Inflation hit a 39-year high in November, affecting the price of everything from food to utilities.
6. 60 Minutes vs. Ron DeSantis
7. CNN’s own “big lie”
8. Whip it The only problem here is: Immigration enforcement officers didn’t use “whips" on anyone.
Go here to read the details of each lie.

Are your kids physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight?

Jeff Minick writes,
I addressed the need for us to raise tough kids in a recent article for Intellectual Takeout. After doing so, a friend asked me, “So how do we do that?” An answer to that question lies in the Boy Scout Oath, where each Scout promises “to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.”

What were the greatest causes of deaths in 2021?

Abortion was the leading cause of death globally in 2021, with nearly 43 million unborn babies killed in the womb, according to data provided by Worldometer.
