I have much better luck with these smaller, vining type petunias than the regular big ones.
I just love these particular flowers in the summer.
Weeping willow trees are a rare sight in Colorado, so the camera quickly comes out when I see one.
This blog is looking for wisdom, to have and to share. It is also looking for other rare character traits like good humor, courage, and honor. It is not an easy road, because all of us fall short. But God is love, forgiveness and grace. Those who believe in Him and repent of their sins have the promise of His Holy Spirit to guide us and show us the Way.

A Potentially Big Problem for Barack Obama
If Barack Obama does not choose Hillary as his running mate, he may be in real trouble with many women in the Democrat party. I spoke with a "journalist" who writes for several liberal blogs, who was in town to scout out plans for the Dem Convention, and try to find a place to stay for the week. Her anger twoward Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and, especially Howard Dean, was greater than any anger I have heard from anyone on the right.

Dragonboat Races
Dragonboat races are becoming a popular annual affair in Denver. There are many Vietnamese people living in Denver. Many of them escaped Viet Nam in small boats, in hopes that they would find a country where liberty is still cherished. Instead, they came to America.
Some people in the crowd seemed more enthusiastic than others. I found their enthusiasm admirable, given that the temperature was over the 90 degree mark.

Acknowledging God's work in the spacious skies this afternoon
Mutton-Busting
Tonight we went to the rodeo at the county fair. Jon and Greg were hoping to do some mutton-busting. However, they were both 2 pounds over the sixty pound limit, so Sara became the chosen one to uphold the family honor.
Bravely, Sara enters the chute, ready to mount the sheep!
I told Sara to think about only one thing: hang on! Unfortunately, she forgot. The cowboys were right there to prevent a crash landing, and she hurriedly pivoted and ran back to Mom and Dad.
Sara's patented left-handed salute to the crowd

A special day
A Walmart Birthday
Here's my list!
Okay now, where is the toy department?
Is there room in the cart for these donuts?
The money is all spent, and the cart is full.
Before we leave Walmart, we've got to try those bucking broncos by the front door!
Okay Greg, here's the deal. We forgot to buy candles. Just blow out this match, and we can get you your piece of cake!
The end of a pretty good day. By the way, the sunset was not brought to us by Walmart!

Aggressive, Dominant
This little fellow is the dominant one in the pack of eight alpaca males. No one else eats until he allows them to do so. He swings his head to and fro, and will use any tactic to maintain his dominant position, including spitting, biting, and screeching a loud noise that sounds like he is choking, which he probably is.

Hoax of the Century
Yesterday in Boulder, I spoke with an otherwise sane-appearing man in his late fifties. He told me that 93% of Democrats believe in anthropologically-caused global warming, while only 18% of Republicans believe it. He was telling me this so I would be sure to join him in voting Democrat in November. Actually, it made me quite proud to know that 82% of my fellow Republicans are not swallowing this Al Gore-inspired hoax of the century.
