Reading Instapundit regularly is good for me. Today he links to a fabulous article in The Guardian about how High Fructose Corn Syrup has contributed to our obesity epidemic. Government funding of scientists is a big contributor, just like government funding of scientists has contributed to the global warming junk science, and the former close connections between the tobacco industry and government. When the costs of obesity to government health programs becomes higher than the tax revenues from the food industry, the solution will become simple.
