Lisa Wirthman writes in the November 30 Denver Post that if we want to get more things done in politics, we should elect more women. She quotes Denver Congresswoman Diana DeGette as saying that women are "used to looking at the issue and the goal rather than the personality and the ego."
The Democrat party has been hijacked by progressive elitists who think that what matters is your group identity, not who you are as an individual. The nation thought by electing a person with a darker skin color, we could move past racial identity. Instead, we got just the opposite. After six years of the divisive policies of Barack Obama and Eric Holder, are blacks better off today than when Obama took office? Are Latinos? Are women?
These elitists make sure their children don't have to go to schools where there are lots of blacks, browns and Asians. They make sure that their neighborhoods are not invaded by people of color. They can come and help with the housecleaning or yard work, as long as they go back to their own neighborhoods when they have finished their day's work.
The rest of America, on the other hand, believe in the powerful truth expressed by Martin Luther King, Jr., when he said it is the content of one's character, not the color of one's skin that matters. Your gender does not matter, when it comes to the issue of your leadership abilities, nor does your skin color. What matters is the content of your character. We need to elect leaders who have good character. Some of those might be women, some men. Some might be white, some might be black, brown, or Asian-Americans. What matters is who you are as an individual, not what group you belong to.
