Gay or not gay: why should government be involved in marriage?

Glenn Beck and Penn Jillette are featured in three videos that can be found at The Blaze. They both bemoan the fact that government is involved in marriage. Neither believes you should have a right not to be offended. Beck wants the ultimate big tent: people who believe in the Constitution. Jillette likes a free "marketplace of ideas." While he says he is an atheist, he admits there must be a "Prime Mover." As to God, Penn "does not know," but uses the term atheist because he realizes he does not actively believe in God. Jillette wants as little government force as possible.
