Some insight into the arrest of Steve Bannon
In the American Thinker, Grant Baker explains some of the issues around the arrest of Steve Bannon. Read it all here.

"total lack of good judgment by someone proving their “loyalty.”
In her website, Dana Loesch lets us know how she feels about Steve Bannon. I did not know that Bannon scapegoated Trump's kids when he was in the White House. Trump found out and kicked him out.
Like I said, I don’t know what of the accusations are true and how deeply Bannon is involved, either way, I’m not surprised. Just another unforced error and total lack of good judgment by someone proving their “loyalty.”Read it all here.
Loyalty or liability, take your pick.

An interview with Steve Bannon
I believe this is the first time I have heard Steve Bannon speak!
Some quotes: "NBC is the propaganda department of the global elite!" Apparently, Euronews is connected to NBC. "Opposition Party Media!"
"Illegal immigration goes on in the US for one reason: to suppress the wages of the black and hispanic working class."
The interviewer keeps arguing with Bannon, interrupting him, but Bannon isn't having any of it. It makes for riveting viewing. Bannon gives it right back to him and stops him from biased questionning!
Centralized governments like the EU and Washington are in the business of debasing your citizenship! Centralized banks are in the business of debasing your currency! Central, technocratic, crony capitalist, big government and big tech companies are in the business of debasing your digital personhood."
"George Soros is one of the most evil people in the world!

Bannon supporting Judge Roy Moore
Did you catch that off-the-cuff line in President Trump's speech when he said something like, "I already got rid of some of them?" I wonder if he was referring to Steve Bannon and Sebastian Gorka! Breitbart has a story tonight about Steve Bannon going to a rally Monday night in Alabama in support of Judge Roy Moore, the man who is running against Luther Strange, the man Trump is supporting.

“There’s about to be a jailbreak of these moderate guys on the Hill”

I guess I will go back to reading Breitbart more regularly. Steve Bannon is back at the helm there. He gives an interview to Peter Boyer at The Weekly Standard, telling Peter that he is feeling "jacked up."
“Now I’m free. I’ve got my hands back on my weapons. Someone said, ‘it’s Bannon the Barbarian.’ I am definitely going to crush the opposition. There’s no doubt. I built a f***ing machine at Breitbart. And now I’m about to go back, knowing what I know, and we’re about to rev that machine up. And rev it up we will do.”Read more here.

Over-the-top arrogance?

I was curious to see what Sundance at The Conservative Treehouse had to say about Steve Bannon getting fired.
This was not unanticipated. Those who have read CTH in the past two months will have noted the writing was clearly on the wall. Especially in the aftermath of the American Prospect article and the downstream consequence that Secretary of State Tillerson and Secretary of Defense Mattis were fielding questions from media about why Bannon was undermining them -and President Trump- on national security policy via North Korea.Read more here.
In the American Prospect article Steve Bannon also undermined U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson directly, and was far out of line with this:
“I’m changing out people at East Asian Defense; I’m getting hawks in. I’m getting Susan Thornton [acting head of East Asian and Pacific Affairs] out at State.” ~ Steve Bannon
This type of statement was so over-the-top arrogant, and exhibits a ridiculous level of power-lust and expressed self-importance, I asked the question: ” Who exactly is Steve Bannon – to think that he can “marginalize the cabinet”? And against the division narrative within the White House why the heck would he push that opinion publicly? Is he trying to push the envelope and get fired?“.
Well, the White House Press Office has confirmed that political strategist Steve Bannon is no longer working at the White House.
Bannon out today.

Steve Bannon is leaving the White House today. Alex Pappas reports at Fox News,
“Since the first day they joined the Trump campaign there have been two people we conservatives could rely upon to share our ideas and values and take our concerns and issues directly to Donald Trump: Kellyanne Conway and Steve Bannon,” conservative activist Richard Viguerie wrote to his email list this week.
During his time at the White House, Bannon clashed with National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster and National Economic Council Chairman Gary Cohn.

Bannon thinks the Left will help him?

Here is the interview Steve Bannon gave to a Leftist magazine called the American Prospect. I agree completely with this paragraph.
First, to the extent that most of the opponents of Bannon’s China trade strategy are other Trump administration officials, it’s not clear how reaching out to the left helps him. If anything, it gives his adversaries ammunition to characterize Bannon as unreliable or disloyal.Read more here.

Feud between Bannon and Kushner?
Chateau Heartiste reports that, according to the Daily Beast, there is a feud going on in the White House between Steve Bannon and Jared Kushner.
Chateau Heartiste notes that
Steve Bannon Calls Jared Kushner a ‘Cuck’ and ‘Globalist’ Behind His Back
Donald Trump’s chief strategist Stephen Bannon has called the president’s senior advisor and son-in-law Jared Kushner a “cuck” and a “globalist” during a time of high tension between the two top aides, several Trump administration officials told The Daily Beast.
The fighting between Kushner and Bannon has been “nonstop” in recent weeks, according to sources who spoke on condition of anonymity. It’s been an “open secret” that Bannon and Kushner often clash “face-to-face,” according to senior officials.
One official said Bannon has lately complained about Kushner trying to “shiv him and push him out the door” and likened him to a fifth column in the White House.
Chateau Heartiste notes that
Now “shiv” isn’t a tremendously uncommon word, but it’s not exactly within most people’s regular lexicon. Yet I’ve been seeing it crop up in the last few months in news stories, and as the preen overcomes me I must insist that this ‘umble realtalk abode (re)popularized the term for a mass alt-audience. My shiv sense is telling me Bannon and/or other close associates of Trump read this blog.Read more here.
Recently, I lamented on Gab,
Kushner globohomo camp won. Bannon nationalist camp lost. Shakespeare had something to say about this. It was always going to be family that would be the undoing of President Trump.
…in reference to the news about Bannon getting pushed out of White House national security meetings.
This was always my biggest concern: that Trump, his inner circle comprising globohomist New York hyperliberals (both Kushners, Cohn, Powell) and ultrawoke nationalists (Bannon, Miller), would eventually betray his nationalist message for his family. My fears look to have been justified.
Bannon is a self-described “nationalist” and long-time Republican, while Kushner was, until his father-in-law ran for president, a lifelong liberal and a Democratic donor.
ed: it’s in the clan’s blood. and blood type never changes.
“There’s a big fight [going on],” one senior official said. “It’s all about policy. There’s tension [between them] on trade, health care, immigration, taxes, [terrorism]—you name it.” […]
“Steve thinks Jared is worse than a Democrat, basically,” another official close to Bannon said. “[Steve] has a very specific vision for what he believes, and what he shares [ideologically] with Trump. And he has for a long time now seen [Jared] as a major obstacle to achieving that.”
However, it’s clear that Kushner has been expanding his reach and level of influence in Trump’s core circle of advisers, and that the two men are essentially working against one another as they attempt to keep the president’s ear and affections.
“I love a gunfight,” Bannon told his associates and allies since Wednesday, according to Axios.
Heritage America better hope Bannon wins this duel, but it’s not looking good so far. Trump’s loyalty is legendary, and his family will come first always. If his family doesn’t much care for Trump’s populist-nationalism message — the core reason his base supports him — then I’m afraid we’re in for a rough four years as the Jared Wormtongues whisper the equivalent of “America Last”.
If my fears prove misplaced, I’ll retch up all the blackpills I took this week and swear allegiance to the one true Golden Pill.

Bannon still a member of National Security Council...attended today's meeting
Here is the take of Sundance on the change in Steve Bannon's responsibilities.
President Trump doesn’t want the national intelligence agencies sending him updates on what Senator Schumer had for lunch, where and who he dined with. Instead President Trump prefers the intelligence agencies focus on global security issues that are actually vital to the national security interests of the country.Read more here.
H.R McMasters instructions toward the intelligence agencies has just freed up thousands of hours of operational intelligence (spying and analysis) to focus on real threats unrelated to domestic politics. Subsequently, with the new direction established, Steve Bannon doesn’t need to be a pre-filter for NSC raw intel any longer. Bannon can now be a consumer of that intelligence, just like President Trump.
...Secondly, with the anticipation of President Obama’s Nat Sec Adviser Susan Rice remaining in the headlines as more is discovered about her role in the weaponization of intelligence for political use, there’s no better time for political Bannon to exit the NSC Principals Committee than right now.
It would be a little sketchy for Rice’s political weaponization of the NSC to be exposed in the media headlines while Steve Bannon, painted as a pure political partisan, sat on the Principals Committee of the Trump NSC.
Steve Bannon out at National Security Council
Akbar Shahid Ahmed reports at the Huffington Post that Steve Bannon has been removed from Trump's National Security Council. I will be eager to read Sundance's analysis of this, but so far nothing on it at the Last Refuge. Here is the Huffington article, which says the move was asked for by Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster, Trump’s national security adviser, according to The New York Times.
Michael Flynn tweets,
Michael Flynn tweets,
Fact 1: Flynn/Bannon most loyal to DJT (both out at NSC)
Fact 2: McMaster won't say "Radical Islam"

Who is Steve Bannon?
Steve Bannon, Trump's choice as Chief Strategist, is portrayed in today's Boston Globe. The Globe interviewed former students of Harvard Business School.

“Most of the time, there is not a right answer,” Vorse said. “These are cases where part of succeeding in business is figuring out what’s important and what’s not.”
“Steve is as good as anybody at getting through the noise, deciphering the issue, and deciding what’s relevant,” he added.
...“In my view, Steve was certainly top three in intellectual horsepower in our class — perhaps the smartest,” Allen said. “But he combined horsepower with logical, well-structured arguments. Whenever Steve spoke, my advice was to ‘listen for understanding.’ That is what I am doing today.”
...Bannon grew up in a Democratic household, and he has recounted how he began questioning the party during the Carter administration. During his years as a naval officer, he was in the north Arabian Sea amid the Iranian hostage crisis and he lost all faith in Carter.
“You could tell it was going to be a goat [expletive],” Bannon told Businessweek.
By the time he arrived at Harvard, his conservatism was blossoming.
...One female classmate described Bannon as an “alpha male” with a bearing and attitude that made some women uncomfortable in class.
Vorse denied that his friend had any such qualities, then or now. “This garbage never, ever came up” in class or later in their business career.
“Our clients were women, were Jewish, were Muslim, were Asian, were African-American, were Hispanic. My God. If they had a business that we could represent and do something — purple, I don’t care. He didn’t care.”
In preparation for the 25th reunion of Bannon’s HBS class in 2010, the attendees submitted updates about what was going on in their lives.
Bannon wrote about how, after more than 20 years in the financial industry, his new focus was as a filmmaker. He noted his recent film, “Generation Zero,” about the financial meltdown had been endorsed by Sarah Palin. His upcoming film, starring Michele Bachmann, was “a frontal assault on the progressive movement trying to destroy our country. I currently have another half dozen or so films on various right-wing topics getting ready for production and am having a hell of a lot of fun.”
“Looking forward to catching up with everyone at the reunion and signing folks up for the populist rebellion we call the Tea Party movement.”
...The perch Bannon will soon occupy as Trump’s chief counselor and strategist is no longer the fringe of the classroom, or the fringe of anywhere. It’s the Oval Office.
Read more here.

What most can’t find in their recollections is the harshly divisive Steve Bannon they read about today.
Interviews with more than two dozen of his former classmates illustrate that many view him as a brilliant thinker, even if they don’t always agree with his politics.
He was gregarious. He was preppy, often dressed in a favorite yellow sweater. As one classmate put it, “He didn’t strike me as out of the mainstream.” Minorities in the class said he didn’t make them feel uncomfortable. A Jewish classmate said he never heard him say anything anti-Semitic.
“I don’t think there’s a racist bone in his body,” said Thomas Meredith, who sat with Bannon in the skydeck.
But there are also those who say that he had a controlling side that could take over the class, that he was high-strung — and could come across as abrasive to some of the women in the class.
“There was some anger there. He was wound really tightly,” said one former classmate, who spoke on the condition of anonymity. “I’ve lost sleep around the fact that he’s so close to the president of the United States. . . . The women in my section have as well.”
Bannon grew up in a working-class family living in Richmond. While home from Virginia Tech during summer breaks, he would spend long hours working at a local junkyard.
“He would come home looking like a coal miner,” said his younger brother, Chris. “Mom would make him strip down to his boxers and spray him off with a hose before he could come in.”
After graduating from college, he joined the Navy, where he served on ships abroad before working at the Pentagon. While there, he earned a master’s degree in national security studies from Georgetown University.
Bannon was 29, much older than his classmates who entered Harvard after brief stints at banks or consulting firms.
Unlike many, he was married: Several years earlier a Catholic priest had married Bannon and Cathleen “Susie” Houff,a young woman who, like him, was from Richmond and had attended Virginia Tech. They were still childless — a daughter would come several years later — and the marriage would end in divorce, the first of three for Bannon.
Not long after introductions, Bannon asked Vorse to be in his study group, the beginning of a crucial relationship. The two men would grow extremely close, later working together at Goldman Sachs, forming their own financial firm, and joining forces at Breitbart. On election night, Vorse was one of those Bannon called.

JEFFREY BEIR

“Our relationship went from little brother-big brother, to equal brother,” Vorse said.
...The business school distributes first-year students into a number of sections that are about 90 students each. They stay in the same classroom for about eight hours every day, so those in Section H with Bannon grew to know him intimately.

“Most of the time, there is not a right answer,” Vorse said. “These are cases where part of succeeding in business is figuring out what’s important and what’s not.”
“Steve is as good as anybody at getting through the noise, deciphering the issue, and deciding what’s relevant,” he added.

Know your enemies
Fighting back with vigor, Breitbart today reveals that the man who smeared Steve Bannon last week as anti-Semetic,
Before joining the Obama administration, Jonathan Greenblatt was the Director of the Impact Economy Initiative at the George Soros-funded Aspen Institute.
previously directed an initiative at a George Soros-financed, far-left institute, and he worked for the Obama administration just prior to joining the ADL.

Encompassing a broad range of issues, many of AI’s policy-work programs are rooted in the belief that the United States is a nation whose history amounts largely to an unbroken narrative of injustice; that government intervention frequently represents the best remedy for social and economic problems; and that America’s deep-seated “structural racism,” while “harder to see than its previous incarnations,” is just as likely as its forerunner to “perpetuate racial group inequity.”
Soros’s Open Society Foundations has provided numerous grants to the Aspen Institute totaling at least $515,000.

"you have quite a complex court that Bannon will have to finesse to realize his reign of the working man and a trillion dollars in new spending."
Newly appointed "Chief Strategist" to president-elect Trump Steve Bannon gives an interview to Michael Wolff of the Hollywood Reporter.
“I’m not a white nationalist, I’m a nationalist. I’m an economic nationalist,” he tells me. “The globalists gutted the American working class and created a middle class in Asia. The issue now is about Americans looking to not get f—ed over. If we deliver—” by “we” he means the Trump White House “—we’ll get 60 percent of the white vote, and 40 percent of the black and Hispanic vote and we’ll govern for 50 years. That’s what the Democrats missed, they were talking to these people with companies with a $9 billion market cap employing nine people. It’s not reality. They lost sight of what the world is about.”Read more here.
“Like [Andrew] Jackson’s populism, we’re going to build an entirely new political movement,” he says. “It’s everything related to jobs. The conservatives are going to go crazy. I’m the guy pushing a trillion-dollar infrastructure plan. With negative interest rates throughout the world, it’s the greatest opportunity to rebuild everything. Ship yards, iron works, get them all jacked up. We’re just going to throw it up against the wall and see if it sticks. It will be as exciting as the 1930s, greater than the Reagan revolution — conservatives, plus populists, in an economic nationalist movement.”
...What he seems to have carried from a boyhood in a blue-collar, union and Democratic family in Norfolk, Va., and through his tour of the American establishment, is an unreconstructed sense of class awareness, or bitterness — or betrayal. The Democratic Party betrayed its working-man roots, just as Hillary Clinton betrayed the longtime Clinton connection — Bill Clinton's connection — to the working man. "The Clinton strength," he says, "was to play to people without a college education. High school people. That's how you win elections." And, likewise, the Republican party would come to betray its working-man constituency forged under Reagan. In sum, the working man was betrayed by the establishment, or what he dismisses as the "donor class."
Bannon represents, he not unreasonably believes, the fall of the establishment. The self-satisfied, in-bred and homogenous views of the establishment are both what he is against and what has provided the opening for the Trump revolution. "The media bubble is the ultimate symbol of what's wrong with this country," he continues. "It's just a circle of people talking to themselves who have no f—ing idea what's going on. If The New York Times didn't exist, CNN and MSNBC would be a test pattern. The Huffington Post and everything else is predicated on The New York Times. It's a closed circle of information from which Hillary Clinton got all her information — and her confidence. That was our opening."

"Unity, Shmoonity"
David Goldman writes,
Unity, Shmoonity: The appeal to Trump to "unify the country" by firing Steve Bannon is a malodorous exercise in hypocrisy. The liberal Congressmen who signed the Bannon petition want to nullify the election and re-run it in the kangaroo court of the controlled media where the liberal elites decide what the facts are. "Post-truth" is the Oxford Dictionary's neologism of the year, and it applies squarely to the witchhunt against Bannon. There is no "unity" with the liberal elite (nor with the disgruntled, distempered #Nevertrumpers).

Time to attack Steve Bannon
Adrienne writes,
Who's the Leading Contender for Anti-Semite, White Supremacist, Homophobic, Alt Right Leader, and Very Dangerous Person™?...
that would be Steve Bannon.
This is known as the politics of personal destruction.
I guess the libtards got tired of attacking Trump directly, so they've decided on attacking Steve Bannon.
CNN, known for it's fair and non-partisan reporting (I'm kidding) had this to say:
Bannon was the executive chairman of Breitbart News before Trump hired him in August to run the campaign. The site has a history of publishing incendiary and divisive stories, many of which are outright anti-Semitic, misogynist and racist
Now Trump has appointed Bannon as chief strategist and senior counselor, an "equal partner" with Reince Priebus, the Republican Party chairman who will be chief of staff. It is the latest and clearest signal that Breitbart has risen from right-wing outlier to conservative juggernaut. source
Guess who else backs this up?
Why that would be the Southern Poverty Law Center, an early front runner in the politics of personal destruction.
Today I'm declaring myself tall, thin, and 25 years old. The fact that I'm 5'2", fluffy, and nearly 71 has no bearing on my declaration. I said it, so it's true.

Shapiro writes about Bannon
Former Breitbart writer Ben Shapiro is no fan of Steve Bannon. Here is what he writes today about the man Trump has named to be his "Chief Strategist."
Friday, August 26, 2016
Going after new Trump CEO
Today the media organs of the Left are in full scale attack on Steve Bannon, Trump's newest pick to head his campaign. Can't say Ben Shapiro didn't warn us. The Guardian says Bannon is a registered voter in Florida in a house in which he does not live. They also include this scruffy photo of Bannon:

Politico, The New York Times, and The New York Post all have stories alleging that Bannon may have engaged in domestic violence during his marriage.
Shapiro had this to say nine days ago.

Politico, The New York Times, and The New York Post all have stories alleging that Bannon may have engaged in domestic violence during his marriage.
Shapiro had this to say nine days ago.
...Back in March, I quit Breitbart News when it became clear to me that they had decided that loyalty to Donald Trump outweighed loyalty to their own employees, helping Trump smear one of their own reporters, Michelle Fields, by essentially calling her a liar for saying that she had been grabbed by then-Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski. Here’s what I wrote at the time:Read more here.
Andrew built his life and his career on one mission: fight the bullies. But Andrew’s life mission has been betrayed. Indeed, Breitbart News, under the chairmanship of Steve Bannon, has put a stake through the heart of Andrew’s legacy. In my opinion, Steve Bannon is a bully, and has sold out Andrew’s mission in order to back another bully, Donald Trump; he has shaped the company into Trump’s personal Pravda…the facts are undeniable: Breitbart News has become precisely the reverse of what Andrew would have wanted.
...Breitbart publicly burned bridges with everyone to maintain its Trump loyalty. That was Bannon, a scorched-earth personal opportunist.
...Under Bannon’s Leadership, Breitbart Openly Embraced The White Supremacist Alt-Right. Andrew Breitbart despised racism. Truly despised it. He used to brag regularly about helping to integrate his fraternity at Tulane University. He insisted that racial stories be treated with special care to avoid even the whiff of racism. With Bannon embracing Trump, all that changed. Now Breitbart has become the alt-right go-to website, with Yiannopoulos pushing white ethno-nationalism as a legitimate response to political correctness, and the comment section turning into a cesspool for white supremacist mememakers.
This Is Precisely The Sort of Corrupt Media Relationship Breitbart Used To Abhor. Andrew Breitbart used his memoir, Righteous Indignation, to target one thing above all else: what he called the Democrat-Media Complex. He hated the merger of the Democrats and the media, and particularly despised their lie of objectivity. Breitbart News never claimed to be objective. But until Trump won the nomination, leadership at Breitbart News maintained that they had not become a loudspeaker for Trumpism. That was obviously a lie, and one Breitbart would hate. HATE!
Trump’s Campaign Strategy Could Be The Launch Of A New Media Outlet. Because Bannon’s ambitions extend to Steve Bannon, he’ll tell Trump he’s doing a fantastic job even if he isn’t. That’s how Bannon Svengalis political figures and investors – by investing them in his personal genius, then hollowing them out from the inside. There’s a reason Sarah Palin went from legitimate political figure to parody artist to Trump endorser, with Steve Bannon standing alongside her every step of the way. There’s a reason Breitbart News went from hard-charging news outlet to drooling Trump mouthpiece. Bannon emerges from all of this unscathed. So what’s next on his agenda? If Trump wins, he’s in a position of high power; if Trump loses, Bannon could head up a new media empire with Trump’s support and the involvement of new Trump supporter and ousted former Fox News head Roger Ailes. Look for Sean Hannity to be a part of any such endeavor.
