Sean Hannity now on top of cable t.v. ratings

Matthew Shaer writes for New York Times Magazine a long piece on Sean Hannity, who has risen to the top of cable televison ratings. Here are just a couple of excerpts.
...Bill Shine told me that when it came to the opinion side of the Fox News operation, Hannity was “early on, pretty [much] first” when it came to vocal support of Trump. This put the host at odds with a sizable portion of the Fox News brass, along with Rupert Murdoch, who, according to Murdoch’s biographer, Michael Wolff, had advised Ailes to “tilt to anyone but Trump,” even if that anyone was Hillary Clinton. The vehemently anti-Clinton Hannity was not about to let that happen. (Ailes, after leaving Fox News, later joined the Trump campaign as a debate adviser.)

...In November, Alvin Chang, a writer for Vox, crunched data from two years of Hannity TV transcripts and concluded that Hannity was, in his mentions of topics like “the deep state” and the uranium deal, the media’s “top conspiracy theorist.” In our conversations, Hannity rejected the label, calling it a “typical left-wing attack. My whole career I’ve pursued the truth and have been proven right time after time while my colleagues are often dead wrong.” And to watch Hannity regularly is to observe how distant the host is from a figure like the Infowars proprietor Alex Jones. Jones endorses theories; Hannity almost never does, leaving that job to his guests. It is a dance that has the effect of nourishing the more wild-eyed beliefs of his fans while providing Hannity a degree of plausible deniability.

"Stop the shredding of the Constitution!"

Rumor has it that Sean Hannity is one of the Americans unmasked by the Obama administration. Do you have any doubt that Sean will fight back? Rusty Weiss reports at Mental Recession,
Fox News host Sean Hannity has threatened to unleash “the biggest lawsuit” against the Obama administration should reports that he was under NSA surveillance or ‘unmasked’ by officials turn out to be true.

“I am going to sanction the biggest lawsuit that I possibly can with the biggest attorneys in the country,” Hannity claimed during a recent radio broadcast.

The conservative commentator said it’s time somebody takes such drastic actions in order “to stop the shredding of the Constitution.”

"The Hollywood Left's agitation squad"

Two radio and t.v. personalities who supported Trump throughout the primaries and campaign, Sean Hannity and Laura Ingraham, get together. Both remind Trump to keep in mind the people who supported him. Sean added that Trump should never trust the Republican establishment, the Democrat establishment, or the media establishment, ever! At the end, Sean asks Laura if the rumors are true about her considering a run for the US Senate from Virginia!

A confession

The mainstream media is freaking out about the Brexit vote. Maybe it's time for a confession from me. When my preferred candidate was losing his battle with Donald Trump in the Republican primaries, I tuned out Trump supporters like Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham and Roger L. Simon. I even started listening to NPR!

I'm over my tantrum. Today I turned on NPR for what I hope will be one of the last times, during a thunderstorm which was interferring with my AM radio reception. The NPR person started sobbing about the Brexit vote as she rode her bicycle into Munich and talked with her friends. Immediately I laughed uproariously, and changed back to the staticky AM radio program.

Laura Ingraham was excitedly celebrating the Brexit vote. So was Sean Hannity later in the day. And Roger L. Simon has been writing his best stuff ever.

And where was Donald Trump? In London congratulating the people of Britain for their "fantastic" vote! Unlike Barack Obama who scolded them and threatened them prior to the vote, which surely influenced the vote just as happened in 2010 and 2014 in America.

Cruz gets under Trump-supporter Hannity's skin

Sean Hannity is confused. Ted Cruz is unable to help him. Hannity then loses his temper and demands of Cruz,
“Senator, why do you do this? Every single time––no, you gotta stop! Every time I have you on the air and I ask you a legitimate question, you try to throw this in my face, I’m getting sick of it!”

Then, in denial of his own anger, Hannity accuses of Cruz of being angry when Cruz explains what he believes are the issues of concern to voters.

Newt Gingrich: There's no virtuous middle way here. You're either for the Republican nominee, whether it is Trump or Cruz, or you're for the election of Hillary Clinton and a very radical Supreme Court

Is Gingrich Trump's Vice Presidential nominee? Or, is he Cruz's Veep? Kinda like a Dick Cheney was to a George W. Bush?

Sean Hannity: Mathematically it's over, and the Establishment lost!

Laura Ingraham: The perfect is the enemy of the good!

Trump's latest interview with Sean Hannity

Full interview on Fox News: Donald Trump with Sean Hannity. Some Trumpisms: Russia will be in a quagmire in the Middle East for many years to come. We have had the dumbest foreign policy people in our nation's history. I want us to build up America. We don't go for victory. We haven't had the right leaders. Putin has no respect for our president. A day after they meet Putin sends troops in to Syria. They're shipping migrants in, why can't we send them back? Dwight Eisenhower moved a million people out in the 1950s. We lose in everything.
