Will we allow him to learn from his mistakes?

Former Congressman Bob Beauzprez is running for governor in Colorado...again. He lost in 2006 by 17 points to a first time candidate, Democrat Bill Ritter. Joey Bunch writes in the Denver Post that one of the things Beauprez has to do as he campaigns is explain why he lost to Ritter.
"I was not as sharp on message as I could have been, by any stretch of the imagination," he said, sitting in his campaign headquarters as volunteers worked the phones nearby. "We didn't have a clear strategy. We didn't stay disciplined, and shame on me for that.

"You learn from your mistakes. That's the key, I think, in all this."

Beauprez said part of the problem was the mood of the country in 2006, with President Bush, his handling of the war and the sliding economy on Republicans' backs. A well-organized Democratic political machine also kept him off-message, Beauprez said.

He opposes taxes and Colorado's new gun laws. He supports fracking and executing killer Nathan Dunlap. He thinks legal pot is a ruinous boondoggle, and his plan for the economy rests on rolling back regulations.
