How many universes are there?

Do we live in a single universe, or in what some scientists call a multiverse? A new film is coming out about the scientists who are studying the "God particle" in Switzerland. The film is called "Particle Fever," and the Wall Street Journal describes it as an engaging tale that
chronicles the 2008 launch of the Large Hadron Collider, the world's largest particle accelerator, and the experiments done there to confirm the existence of the Higgs boson, sometimes called the "God particle."
