Stuart Schneiderman writes at Had Enough Therapy? about some of the ways Americans are abusing our bodies and ourselves.
we believe in quick fixes. But we also practice sloth. On the one hand we’re in a hurry. On the other, we are too lazy to take care of our bodies.Too many Americans and Europeans are unwilling to put in the time and effort to stick to an exercise regimen and to develop healthy eating habits.
You know and I know, and Dr. Saltz confirms, that many cases of depression and anxiety and insomnia can be treated by good habits.
By using medication to control our moods we are abusing our bodies. We feel entitled to the body’s pleasures and we insist on suppressing the body’s pains.
By using biochemistry, we are trying to exert control over our bodies. If our bodies tell us something that we do not want to hear—as in, that we should change our diet or exercise more—we prefer to suppress the message with medication.

Overall, I do not favor pharmaceutical help for emotional problems.
Now, there are certainly times that medication should be used: post-op brain surgery of the type that my husband had back in 1993. To prevent brain swelling and death, he was on massive doses of steroids; once coming off those steroids, the depression was unbearable. Anti-depressants, temporarily prescribed, helped to bring the brain back into chemical balance.
As for aches and pains, well, I favor limited pharma intervention.
When it comes to allergies (such as the seasonal-allergy attack that I've been under for over a week now), antihistamines are the only viable relief.
If you try Sinus Rinse, you will never use antihistamines again.
Bob,
Thanks for the tip. I just ordered Sinus Rinse from Amazon.
The stores here have empty shelves in the allergy-and-sinus sections.
I am delighted that you are going to try it. I suffered from allergies all my life until I began to use Sinus Rinse. Now I use it every day, sleep well because I breathe well every night, and no longer suffer. Stick with it. I am sure you will see results. God bless you.
I got Sinus Rinse on Thursday evening. So far, I have done four rinses. Improvement!
Thanks so much for the tip.
Hey, Bob!
Sinus Rinse did the trick in only a few days. I will admit that I supplemented with Zyrtek.
Anyway, I'm back to good health now.
Thanks for the tip about Sinus Rinse! I'm going to keep a supply of it on hand.
I am so glad you got results, and that you were willing to try it. I use it several times a day, because I have always had allergies, and am always prone to getting stuffed up from working in places that don't clean their air ducts.
A doctor told me I need surgery to open up my nasal passages. Another doctor told me I need a sleep apnea machine. I decided to use the Sinus Rinse several times daily, and I breathe well all day and all night long.
