Harsh, brutal realities

Dan Caplis is a Denver lawyer who hosts a talk show on radio station KNUS. I rarely get the opportunity to listen to Dan, since his show conflicts with my work hours, but on my days off I make sure to tune in. Dan is notable for his fight against marijuana legalization, but today he is talking about Obama's stance toward the Islamic State. Dan wants a victory over the Islamic State, and he doesn't believe it will happen without hundreds of thousands of American troops on the ground.

Caplis believes that Islamic State poses an imminent threat to America. IS is raising hundreds of millions of dollars, and plans to attack us on on our own soil. Does Obama have a strategy to defeat the Islamic State? Arab nations are begging for our help. Islamic State barbarians burn an allied pilot in a cage alive, and Obama responds by telling Christians in America not to get on their high horse, because 800-900 years ago Christians conducted Crusades against jihadists who had conquered Christians.

Caplis believes that Obama is committed to enduring in his desire to make sure that the United States does not have an imbalance of power in the world. He wants to make sure America no longer has the power to exert the greatest influence on world events. He has remained steadfast in reducing American military, economic and moral influence. The vacuums left by our withdrawals in Iraq and Afghanistan have been filled by Islamic Jihadis. Americans lack the will to fight another war, and we do not have a president who is willing to lead us to victory.

Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel stated that IS poses an imminent threat to our national security. Obama responded by firing Hagel. Caplis asked a caller, "How many 9-11 style attacks would it take before Americans would have the will to defeat these savages? One? Two?" Obama knows the vacuums he left in Iraq and Afghanistan would likely be taken over by jihadists, including taking our tanks and weapons we left behind.

Caplis believes eventually we will not be able to defeat IS by a volunteer army alone, and that we will have to reinstate the draft.
