Our coarsening culture

Senator Gillibrand of New York drops a few "F" bombs as she talks with some NYU students. That leads Laura to comment on how coarse our culture is becoming. If you are on the left, you can get by with using obscenities apparently.

Which is tougher, the New York real estate world, or the DC swamp?

What is populism? For the Left, it means using big government to break up Wall Street corporations. For the right it means breaking up the power of big government.

Today on the anniversary of President Reagan's "Tear down this wall" speech in Berlin, Laura has Craig Shirley, author of Reagan Rising. He points out that the next day both the Washington Post and New York Times bashed him for "destabilizing" the region. In fact, Shirley says the Washington Post always supported every Soviet leader against Reagan throughout the Reagan presidency. Our State Department took the "tear down this wall" words out of his speech, but Reagan insisted on putting those words back in.
