Here is Secretary of State Tillerson on Face the Nation today with John Dickerson asking the questions. Tillerson said that the US goal is still first and foremost to defeat ISIS. He described President Trump's demeanor during the discussions as "very thoughtful," inviting all members of his team to give him their views. He described the president as exhibiting "extraordinary leadership."
Did you know that there were two other chemical weapons attacks in March? I did not know that.
Tillerson, who is going to Russia Tuesday, described the Russians as "providing cover" for Assad.
I still get a kick out of the fact that at the end of dinner Trump pulled Xi aside and told him that during dinner America had bombed the ---- out of a Syrian airfield.
My impression of Tillerson is that he is a no-nonsense substantial person. What a change from the pompous Kerry and Clinton who preceded him!
