Walk Softly and Carry a Big Stick

Our city girl, Sara, is always on the lookout for grasshoppers, spiders, and other menacing creatures of the earth. This morning she found this baby squirrel, about three inches long, lying on its back in a pile of pine needles. We all came running, when Sara screamed. I got a stick and turned the little fellow onto his legs. Seconds later we found his brother and sister, who God nicely camouflaged to fit into their new surroundings. No mama anywhere to be seen.

Hmm, looks like a baby chipmunk to me.
