"World War II happened because of American isolationism, British appeasement, and Russian collaboration."

How much do you know about World War II? Victor Davis Hanson knows more than anyone I know of. I hope you can find time to listen to him.

"The Axis countries lied to each other. Britain and the United States went to war for principle. We trusted each other. Unfortunately, Britain was flat broke when the war was over. Because of their deprivation, they began to socialize their transportation, their healthcare, their iron and steel industries, their power, and they lost their empire.
Germany and Japan, having been decimated by the allies, came back to become industrial powers. Britain was the most admirable and idealistic of all the allies.

Japan was the most vicious. The United States achieved all of its goals. We lost 425,000 people, only 3% of our military. Yet, when the war was over, we helped rebuild Germany and Japan.

War is a laboratory, a measuring device. Two sides have differences. War tells you in the end who is stronger. Nobody knows sho is going to win. World War II happened because of American isolationism, British appeasement, and Russian collaboration."
