Will We Take Up The Slack?

The demise, or at least the considerable thinning down of the ranks of newspaper journalism, seems to be accelerating. Will blogggers take up the slack? I have my doubts. We decry the obvious slanting of stories to fit the "journalists'" personal ideology, but are we really much better on that score?

Most bloggers don't hide their agenda by claiming they are unbiased.

True Jeffro but that only means that once again we are getting news from a biased point of view. How are we or can we ever get a just-the-facts kinda of news?

That is a good question, Terri. Because I'm a cynic, I fear the days of just-the-facts news coverage went out with the old school journalists some time ago. The return of those days requires a revolution or slow evolution of the training of journalists. At this time, the press industry is blissfully unaware of their shortcomings, or just doesn't care. That would have to be overcome, thus my cynicism.
