The Commies Do Capitalism!
Will capitalism solve the China/Taiwan problem? China is allocating the equivalent of $19 billion dollars to Taiwanese companies doing business on the mainland over the next two or three years. In addition to increased industrial cooperation, the plan calls for the wider sale in China of agricultural products from Twiwanese farms. Last week China and Taiwan initiated daily air and direct maritime links after a break of nearly 60 years! The above facts were gleaned from an AP story with no byline. I also heard on BBC radio last night that China has given Taiwan two pandas!

Eventually all countries look at their neighbors and think I want a piece of that. Taiwan has so much more because of US. China wants what we have on thier basis. Will it bring the two together? Has it brought Europe and the US together? This thought crossed my mind, Europe was ok with Afghanistan but not Iraq, why? They had business dealings with Iraq. Interesting question Bob.
