The left attacks the new Pope

The left is wasting no time going after Pope Francis. First I heard it on NPR, that he didn't do enough to stop the slaughter of leftists who believed in liberation theology. Liberation theology? Where have I hear that term? Oh yeah, Chicago; some pastor named Wright.

Now it is the Associated Press that is taking up the cause. Two AP writers dredge up the "Dirty War" of 1976-1983 when thousands of leftists "disappeared." The AP writers note

From 1976 to 1983, a military dictatorship terrorized much of Argentina, where up to 30,000 leftist dissenters "disappeared" or were killed, among them an estimated 150 priests. Human rights groups also estimate as many as 500 babies were stolen from prisoners imprisoned by the regime.

Here is the sentence where the AP writers may be showing a bit of bias.

The denunciation was typical of a Vatican that often reacts defensively when it feels it's under attack.
