Two women came into the store together yesterday. One was a local, the other was from the Congo. They left with over $1700 worth of purchases made by the local woman for the woman and her village in the Congo. I will try to find out more details and update this post.
One detail I know is that the African woman has a friend in her village who wants to start a beauty shop. Therefore, many of the purchases were supplies to get her started in business.
Another detail I heard was that the local woman asked neighbors to chip in, and they did.
