Did you know that the Spanish Inquisition, carried out over three centuries, killed as many people as Soviet communism killed in an average day? Did you know that President Bush dedicated a memorial to the Victims of Communism on June 12 in Washington? One million dollars, mostly from Vietnamese, was raised to build the memorial. That is about one cent for every person killed by an evil ideology that still controls one-fifth of the world's population!
The figure of one million victims only counts actual deaths. Tens of millions more, who will never be counted, had their spirits crushed, their minds numbed, their bodies destroyed by communism. Many Christians have taken up the cause of illegal immigrants coming to America from Mexico. But, do you hear those same Christians saying anything about Christians being killed or imprisoned in communist China or Cuba?
